Combine 2026 No. 2 overall pick Stenberg with the likes of Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith and Michael Misa, and San Jose is a team that will make opposing goaltenders miserable for years to come. Stenberg fits in nicely, and he could potentially even get time on the top line alongside Celebrini, though it's also possible that the Sharks will ease Stenberg's transition to North America by having him start in a middle-six role. In either scenario, Stenberg will have plenty to adjust to as an 18-year-old (19 on Sept. 30) in his first season out of Europe. However, he already has experience playing against men after scoring 11 goals and 33 points in 43 regular-season appearances with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League last year, and Stenberg has tremendous upside. His experience playing against those much older than him should help the 18-year-old's transition to the NHL. While he'll need to earn his Opening Night roster spot, it wouldn't be surprising to see Stenberg open the campaign with the Sharks in a middle-six role that includes some power-play ice time.
