BAL - 7/6:Mike Gonzalez should be ready to return from a shoulder injury right after the All-Star break, but the Orioles have stated that Alfredo Simon will continue to close as long as he's pitching well. We'd expect a healthy Gonzalez to get the job back at some point, but Simon should be the guy at least for a while longer.

Hot

Troy Glaus v. Jamie Moyer – 21-for-60 (.350), 5 HR, 15 RBI, 6:12 BB:K, .429 OBP

Brian McCann v. Jamie Moyer – 9-for-25 (.360), 1 HR, 6 RBI, 2:3 BB:K, .429 OBP

Martin Prado v. Jamie Moyer – 8-for-22 (.364), 1 HR, 4 RBI, 1:2 BB:K, .391 OBP

Ryan Braun v. Tim Lincecum – 6-for-13 (.462), 2 HR, 7 RBI, 1:3 BB:K, .533 OBP

Andre Ethier v. Josh Johnson – 5-for-10 (.500), 0 HR, 3 RBI, 1:2 BB:K, .545 OBP

Vernon Wells v. Kevin Slowey – 6-for-11 (.545), 1 HR, 5 RBI, 0:0 BB:K, .500 OBP

Adam Lind v. Kevin Slowey – 6-for-11 (.545), 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0:2 BB:K, .545 OBP

Torii Hunter v. Freddy Garcia – 16-for-40 (.400), 4 HR, 7 RBI, 2:9 BB:K, .455 OBP

Franklin Gutierrez v. Kyle Davies – 8-for-14 (.571), 0 HR, 4 RBI, 2:2 BB:K, .625 OBP

Bronson Arroyo v. Mets – Remember Arroyo's 2009 season? He was awful in the first half. Through July 5, Arroyo had a 5.85 ERA and he had just allowed 29 hits in 14 innings over his last three starts. Something changed on July 10. He threw a complete game shutout and continued to lower his ERA by two full runs by the end of the season with a quality start in 15 of his last 16 starts. What happened on July 10? He faced the Mets on the road, just as he does on this July 7. Current Mets sport a line of just .189/.228/.291 against him.

Cold

Ivan Rodriguez v. Jon Garland – 8-for-46 (.174), 0 HR, 2 RBI, 1:9 BB:K, .191 OBP

Randy Winn v. Aaron Cook – 5-for-29 (.172), 0 HR, 0 RBI, 3:4 BB:K, .250 OBP

James Loney v. Josh Johnson – 1-for-10 (.100), 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0:3 BB:K, .100 OBP

Dan Uggla v. Hiroki Kuroda – 1-for-11 (.091), 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1:5 BB:K, .167 OBP

Carlos Pena v. Tim Wakefield – 6-for-32 (.188), 2 HR, 5 RBI, 7:3 BB:K, .325 OBP – takes walks though

Coco Crisp v. A.J. Burnett – 1-for-13 (.077), 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1:3 BB:K, .143 OBP

Jack Cust v. A.J. Burnett – 1-for-13 (.077), 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2:6 BB:K, .200 OBP

Jamie Moyer v. Braves – Moyer's line against current Braves resides at a not-so-pretty yet not-so bad .285/.338/.834, but this doesn't tell the full story of what the regular starters are able to do when facing him. Troy Glaus, Brian McCann, Martin Prado and Chipper Jones are 46-for-131 (.351) with eight home runs. Led by Glaus' solid history with Moyer while Glaus played for Anaheim, this lineup has the ability to get to Moyer.

Recommended Pickup:

Felix Pie, OF, Orioles – Pie took a valuable step forward in 2009, but he hurt his shoulder in April and it ruined his chance to grab a hold of the every day job. Now that he is finally back, the Orioles have given him the job outright for the first time since he joined the club. There is a chance at some power/speed combo and he should wind up in the leadoff spot n the long run, though he hit seventh in the lineup after being activated on Tuesday.

Other Recent Recommendations: Wandy Rodriguez, Gaby Sanchez, Dexter Fowler, Cliff Pennington, Coco Crisp, Pat Burrell
