Closer Watch
Los Angeles Angels – Scott Downs finally got into a game Saturday and got his third save of the season. He was sidelined early in the week with a knee injury, and then he simply wasn't needed until Saturday. Ernesto Frieri pitched 1.2 innings to nearly earn the save Saturday before Downs was brought in to get the last out and steal Frieri's fire. ("Frieri's Fire" is TM and copyright Kyle McKeown 2012.) While Downs is the man to own for saves right now, there's a belief in some fantasy circles that Frieri's ability to miss bats could put him in position to wrest the closing duties from Downs at some point. Jordan Walden still remains a possibility to reclaim the closer gig, too.
Miami – Heath Bell is the closer again. Feel free to drop Steve Cishek and Eduardo Mujica by the seashore.
Oakland Athletics – Grant Balfour has had his closer duties stripped. Brian Fuentes is the new closer in town. While Fuentes has his struggles, he's also the only option for saves in Oakland right now. Grab him.
San Diego – David Thayer is your closer of the moment in land of camouflage uniforms. He'll cede the job when Houston Street is back.

Recommended Pickup
Josh Reddick, OF, OAK – Reddick has been crushing the ball this season. He has eight home runs, eight doubles, and a triple in addition to a solid .291 average through 134 at-bats. He's owned in just 53% of Yahoo! leagues despite being their 21st ranked player for the season. If you're looking for help in the outfield, it's worth taking a flier on him for a couple weeks to see if he can keep it up.
Other Recent Recommendations: Addison Reed, Tim Stauffer, Casey Janssen, Alex White
