Detroit – The Tigers turned to Joaquin Benoit to spell Doug Fister for the final out of the eighth, then elected to remain with Benoit for the ninth. Jose Valverde appears to be healthy and had not pitched Saturday. This closer situation may be getting interesting after Valverde blew his most recent opportunity Wednesday.

San Diego – Huston Street is back and he celebrated his return with saves both Saturday and Sunday.
