Closer Watch

Rays - Jake McGee picked up his second save of the season Friday in the first game of a doubleheader against Baltimore. McGee pitched a perfect ninth inning on 13 pitches and struck out two batters in the process. McGee blew his last save opportunity on June 16, and wasn't given an opportunity to redeem himself until his next appearance on June 22 when he recorded a hold while Joel Peralta was given the ball in the ninth. It does seem like there is a closer by committee going on in Tampa at the moment, but McGee has been pitching lights out all season so it wouldn't be surprising if Joe Maddon continues to give him a chances to save games while he is still pitching so well.

White Sox - Jacob Petricka was given a three-run lead going into the bottom of the ninth Friday, and was able to convert a save, but also gave up two runs in the process. The White Sox are going with a closer by committee situation for there save opportunities and Petricka will be battling the likes of Zach Putnam and Javy Guerra for the permanent role.

Recommended Pickup

Josh Harrison, 2B/3B/OF, PIT - One of the most valuable asset a fantasy baseball can have is being eligible at multiple positions especially when a team is plagued with injuries and Harrison fits that bill. Most players that are eligible at more than one position tend to be part-time players as they fill in late in the game as defensive replacements which usually means that they aren't very productive fantasy players. Harrison has proven with his bat and legs in the month of June that he can help out many fantasy teams. In the 23 games Harrison has played in June through Friday he has gotten a hit in 17 games with a .312 average and .819 OPS to his name. Harrison also has stolen five bags in the 11 games he played from June 17 to Friday which means that the manager may be trusting him more on the base paths.

Other Recent Recommendations:Marcus Stroman, Mike Zunino, Colby Rasmus, Alex Wood, and Rubby De La Rosa
