Closer Watch

Angels – Kevin Jepsen got his first save Monday, giving up a run on two hits with a three-run lead in the ninth against Boston. Huston Street wasn't available after pitching four times in five days, while Joe Smith had been used for three days straight and Jason Grilli pitched the eighth, so that left Jepsen as the last man standing. Exception, not rule.

Cardinals – Trevor Rosenthal blew one Monday, giving up a run for the third consecutive outing for his sixth failed opportunity on the season. With a highly uncharacteristic six walks in his last 2.1 innings, it's well worth asking whether Rosenthal merely needs rest or is quietly nursing an injury. Might not be a bad time to snatch up Pat Neshek.

Recommended Pickup
Carl Crawford, OF, LAD – These days, Crawford's pretty much in the lineup for every game, and that's made his fantasy value creep up well beyond his ownership. it's been a rough year, but August has been kind to Crawford, as he's hitting .310 with five steals for the month. One would expect him to come around with a bit of pop here and there too, though he hasn't been lately. As long as Crawford can stay on the field, he's a solid fantasy asset.

Other Recent Recommendations: Michael Cuddyer, Avisail Garcia, Mike Fiers, Norichika Aoki, Josh Rutledge

DraftKings Value Picks
SP: Trevor Bauer, CLE ($5,600)
C: Wilin Rosario, COL ($3,800)
1B: Matt Adams, STL ($3,700)
2B: Jedd Gyorko, SD ($3,200)
SS: Javier Baez, CHC ($4,200)
3B: Jonathan Schoop, BAL ($2,900)
OF: Dexter Fowler, OF, HOU ($4,200)
