FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Busy days like Tuesday, with 24 teams in action, can feel a bit daunting. You have so many players to choose from, and you might want to try and spread the wealth. However, whether there are a lot of games or only a few, it can pay to use players on the same line. If a line has a big day, you can have players racking up assists on each other's goals. That's only one of many possible strategies. Regardless, here are some players for Tuesday that may tickle your fancy.

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA at NJD ($8,600): Gibson is off to a slow start, but don't get too despondent over it. While some don't believe in him, he's a former top prospect who had a .920 save percentage last season. This is as much about the matchup because the Devils had a poor offense last season, and Taylor Hall can't cure all those ills by himself.

CENTER

Ryan Johansen, NAS vs. DAL ($6,500): Johansen has three assists, all of which have come on the power play. That's a nice fact given the bonus points you get when scoring with the extra man. On top of that, the Stars have goal prevention issues, as they gave up six to Colorado. It's a great matchup for a good player at a nice price point.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS vs. COL ($6,100): Kuznetsov hasn't gotten on the scoresheet yet, but that very well could change Tuesday. Colorado has questions in net, where the duo of Semyon Varlamov and Calvin Pickard leave a lot to be desired. Additionally, there has been plenty of research about the negative impact back-to-back games on the road have on NHL teams. One thinks it can't be easy to play in Pittsburgh and then in D.C. the next day. The matchup for Kuznetsov is definitely enticing.

WING

Jeff Skinner, CAR at EDM ($6,300): Skinner, if nothing else, puts a ton of pucks on net. Last season, he had 258 shots on goal, and that wasn't even particularly high for him. He has eight through two games so far. The Oilers gave up six goals to Buffalo in their last game and had defensive issues last season. That bodes well for Superintendent Chalmers' least favorite hockey player.

Max Domi, ARI at OTT ($5,500): Domi has only played in one game this season, so we can't take much from that, although it's noteworthy he played almost 22 minutes. Domi was promising as a rookie, and is now a top line winger. The Coyotes will be getting Craig Anderson, as Andrew Hammond is starting Ottawa's game on Monday, but Anderson has looked vulnerable so that isn't a huge concern.

Robby Fabbri, STL at VAN ($4,600): Fabbri's rookie season was overshadowed by all the other talented freshmen. However, he notched 18 goals and 39 points in 72 games as a 19-year-old. This year, he has two assists in three games but he's playing more minutes, including more than two on the power play. The Canucks may be undefeated, but they weren't expected to be good, and don't let two games fool you. For this price, Fabbri is a shrewd pick.

Charlie Coyle, MIN vs LAK ($4,800): Jonathan Quick's injury really changed the dynamic in terms of picking players going against the Kings. Coyle is still only 24, and he's coming off his first 20-goal season. He's taken four shots and blocked four shots in two games, and Jeff Zatkoff just doesn't inspire fear.

DEFENSEMEN

Justin Faulk, CAR at EDM ($5,400): Edmonton's porousness, having let in 13 goals in three games, has previously been mentioned. Faulk's skills, and propensity to put shots on goal, are probably well-known if you play NHL daily fantasy. He has three points, and $5,400 is a really good price, considering the matchup.

John Klingberg, DAL at NAS ($5,200): Dallas may have issues preventing goals, but they don't have issues scoring them. Klingberg is now a true offensive force from the point, as he proved last year. He had 171 shots on goal and played almost four minutes on the power play. This season, he's over four minutes with the extra man. Pekka Rinne's poor save percentage is also a point in Klingberg's favor.
