FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

The Saturday NHL schedule features 12 games. Here are some values options and low-priced fliers to help assemble your FanDuel lineups.

GOALIE

Jeff Zatkoff, LA vs. VAN ($7,600): Forced into No. 1 duty, Zatkoff has skidded to a .839 save percentage over three games (two starts). Vancouver enters averaging just 2.25 goals per game, though. Plus, the Canucks have won each of their first four contests, which makes this a perfect buy-low spot on Los Angeles, especially since the game is at the Staples Center. Zatkoff clearly isn't for those adverse to risk. Peter Budaj ($7,200) warrants the same flier nod if he starts for the Kings.

CENTER

Tyler Seguin, DAL vs. CLS ($8,000): The Blue Jackets travel to Dallas on the wrong end of back-to-back games, which sets up nicely for Seguin, especially at this salary. He is a multi-point threat regardless of opponent and is averaging 18:22 with 3:30 on the power play to start the year. Plus, Seguin has 239 points through 227 games with Dallas.

Auston Matthews, TOR at CHI ($6,200): Chicago has allowed 18 goals through five games and 11 power-play markers. The Blackhawks are also playing their second game in consecutive nights. Matthews has registered 18 shots on net with an average of 17:31 ice time per night over the first four games of his career, and his size, speed should be a lot to handle Saturday.

WINGER

Jonathan Drouin, TB at OTT ($5,400): After allowing the fifth most goals

WINGER

Jonathan Drouin, TB at OTT ($5,400): After allowing the fifth most goals last year, Ottawa is surrendering an average of 4.0 goals per game to start 2016-17. Drouin has seen his shot total decline in three straight games after registering five shots on net in the season opener, but he still boasts a goal and three assists through four games. With an uptick in shot volume against a favorable opponent, Drouin stands to reward based on his modest salary.

Jonathan Marchessault, FLA vs. COL ($4,500): Underpriced given his top-line role and gig with the No. 1 power-play unit, Marchessault is as close to a lineup lock as you'll find given his price. Colorado is allowing 31.5 shots per game to start the year, and Marchessault has five points and 11 shots through his first four contests.

Nail Yakupov, STL at CGY ($4,300): Promoted to the second line for his revenge bid against Edmonton, Yakupov delivered with a goal. He projects to stick with playmakers Robby Fabbri and Paul Stastny, which sets up nicely for Yakupov. Calgary has allowed 20 goals through five games to start the year, too.

Artturi Lehkonen, MON at BOS ($3,600): With two goals and 13 shots through four games to start the year, Lehkonen is making the most of his opportunity on the second line. His salary provides plenty of cap relief, and the rookie should be scarcely owned.

DEFENSE

John Klingberg, DAL vs. CLS ($5,100): A nice stacking option alongside Tyler Seguin, Klingberg has two power-play assists already this season and is averaging 23:34 of ice time. After registering 171 shots last year, he's likely to see an uptick in shot volume after recording just four through the first four games of the year. Plus, as noted, Columbus travels to Dallas to play its second game in consecutive nights Saturday.

Trevor Daley, PIT at NAS ($4,300): You'll want to confirm Kris Letang's (upper body) status before locking Daley into your lineup, but if Letang is out, Daley is an excellent option. Daley's ice time skyrocketed to 25:00 on Thursday against the Sharks. Nashville is also on the tail end of back-to-back games and has surrendered 14 goals through four games to start the year. In addition, Marek Mazanec (.899 career save percentage) will likely start for the Predators.
