DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

The NHL boasts a monster 11-game slate Tuesday with the Flames and Flyers the only teams playing their second game in consecutive nights. Here are a handful of values and low-priced options to help open up some cap space during lineup assembly.

GOALIE

Carter Hutton, STL vs. CGY ($7,700): Over the past two years, Hutton boasts a solid .920 save percentage, and he grabs the Flames on the wrong end of back-to-back road games Tuesday. The Flames also averaged just 2.46 goals per road contest last year. The Blues have surrendered a sixth-ranked 2.5 goals per game to start this year, too.

CENTER

Henrik Sedin, VAN vs. OTT ($4,600): It's been a solid start for the 36-year-old pivot. Sedin has scored three goals with an assist and 10 shots on net through his past four games, and it's the uptick in shot volume that's particularly encouraging. Sedin plays all the top offensive minutes, and the Senators have surrendered 20 goals through five games after allowing a league-high 3.32 goals per road game last year.

Devin Shore, DAL vs. WPG ($3,000): After registering a goal and two assists through the first two games of the season, Shore has averaged 16:47 of ice per night with 3:27 of power play time over his past three outings. The PP minutes are most important because he's rolling with the first unit, which makes him a worthy low-priced flier against Winnipeg. The Jets have allowed 19 goals through five games, after all.

WING

Brayden Schenn, PHI vs. BUF ($5,400): After going without a point through his first three games of the season, Schenn is a nice buy-low value Tuesday. He's back on the top line and No. 1 power play unit and is coming off a career year with 26 goals and 59 points. There is nothing worrisome about facing a depleted Buffalo lineup, either.

Kyle Palmieri, NJD vs. ARI ($4,700): Consider Palmieri as a contrarian option Tuesday. He's projected to skate with Taylor Hall and Pavel Zacha on the top line, and Palmieri has averaged 3:14 of power play time this season. He's also been solid to start the year with three points and 13 shots through five games.

Vladislav Namestnikov, TAM at TOR ($3,800): After playing most of Saturday's game with Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov, Namestnikov skated with the duo again in practice Monday. Namestnikov's value skyrockets alongside the best two scorers on the Lightning, and his goal and assist during Saturday's game highlight his upside. He could prove to be chalky, though.

DEFENSE

Alec Martinez, LOS vs. CLM ($4,300): This salary makes Martinez an extremely attractive option Tuesday. He consistently touches all categories and offers an excellent fantasy floor. He has 10 shots and 11 blocked shots with an average of 22:18 of ice time per night to start the year, and those numbers look even better alongside his goal and three helpers.

Mathew Dumba, MIN at BOS ($3,700): With Jared Spurgeon out the past two games, Dumba has averaged 26:23 of ice time with 3:52 coming on the man advantage. The increased minutes make the 22-year-old defenseman an excellent option Tuesday. At this salary, it's rare to find a player logging such hefty minutes.
