There are 10 games on the NHL docket this Saturday afternoon. That could make for a hectic weekend trying to figure out daily fantasy lineups. Perhaps we can help simplify the process for you a little.
GOALIE
John Gibson, ANA at ARI ($8,900): On the one hand, the Coyotes have won two games in a row. On the other hand, that makes them 2-7-1 in their last 10 contests. Also, Arizona only scores 2.10 goals per game, it gives up 3.17 and played Friday night while Anaheim rested. Gibson has as good a chance of picking up a win as any goalie Saturday.
CENTER
Ryan Kesler, ANA at ARI ($7,200): Hey, since the Coyotes give up 3.17 goals per game, why not get a forward going against them, as well? Arizona also allows a league-high 34 shots on goal per contest, and Kesler has taken 106 shots in 44 games. If Mike Smith doesn't start because he played Friday, that just makes things look even better for Kesler.
Victor Rask, CAR vs. NYI ($5,800): Thomas Greiss has started five games in a row for the Islanders, including Friday night. That means the Islanders have to start Jean-Francois Berube. Beyond that, New York allows 32.9 shots on goal per game and has the 21st-ranked penalty kill. Rask has notched three shots in each of his last six games and has six points in those contests, as well.
WING
Leon Draisaitl, EDM vs. CGY ($6,700): Brian Elliott (2.95 GAA, .889 save percentage) is expected to start for the Flames. Draisaitl is having something of a breakout season, as he's notched 38 points in 44 games, including 15 on the power play. The Flames have the 18th-ranked penalty kill, but if Elliott is in net that increases Draisaitl's chances of power-play success.
Charlie Coyle, MIN at DAL ($6,100): Coyle averages an impressive 13 fantasy points per game, and in his last eight games he's tallied 10 points. Dallas, meanwhile, gives up three goals per game, and its penalty kill is ranked 29th. Coyle only has seven power-play points, but he plays 2:32 per game with the extra man, so he could still take advantage of the Stars' poor penalty kill.
Tanner Pearson, LOS vs. WPG ($5,800): The Jets allow 3.02 goals per game and are on the second night of a back-to-back. Pearson, meanwhile, has notched 10 points (six goals, four assists) and 31 shots on net in his last 10 games. Pearson has potential to really prove a good value, especially if Michael Hutchinson (3.19 GAA) is in net.
Conor Sheary, PIT at DET ($5,300): The Wings allow 2.95 goals per game and have been even worse with Petr Mrazek (3.19 GAA) tending the goal. Sheary is having a breakout year, as he's notched 11 goals on 80 shots in 34 games. He's at the top of the left wing depth chart for Pittsburgh, and he plays alongside Sidney Crosby much of the time, which means he can certainly keep up this level of play, especially in this matchup.
DEFENSEMEN
Alec Martinez, LOS vs. WPG ($5,400): Winnipeg, in addition to being 26th in goals allowed, is 26th in penalty-kill percentage. Martinez has seven power-play points after notching 13 points with the extra man last year. He's also put 80 shots on goal while blocking 86. The Jets don't take a ton of shots (28.9 per game), but he can give you a little extra fantasy value on that end of the ice.
Cam Fowler, ANA at ARI ($5,000): Fowler has only one point in his last 10 games, but he still has 23 this season, so it's likely he turns this around. He's also notched 22 shots in those 10 contests and averages 3:22 per game with the extra man. Fowler is still keeping himself involved, and this is the kind of matchup where he can turn things around. The Coyotes, as mentioned, give up the most shots per game in the league and are also 27th in penalty-kill percentage.
