FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

GOALIE

Sergei Bobrovsky, CLS at OTT ($9,300) – Bob is first in the league with 28 wins, second in save percentage with .932, second in GAA with 1.98, and the Senators are 24th in goals scored with 112. The Blue Jackets have alternated wins and losses since their historic winning streak ended, but since the Caps lit up Bob for five goals, he's allowed two goals or less in his four subsequent starts. He's as reliable as they come and is just behind Devan Dubnyk in the Vezina Trophy race.

WINGERS

Patrick Kane, CHI vs. VAN ($8,600) – The Blackhawks and Canucks know each other very well, and Kane has scored 28 points in 32 career games against them. Though he's been in a small dry spell recently with just two goals in four games, Kane's speed and creativity has always been problematic for the Canucks, whose blue line is banged up and without the services of Erik Gudbranson (wrist) or Ben Hutton (hand).

Artemi Panarin, CHI vs. VAN ($7,700) – Like Kane, the Bread Man has been in a dry spell with two assists in his past five games, and though he doesn't boast the same type of career numbers against Vancouver, is equally slick and talented, making him difficult to cover. The Canucks' goaltending has been good for most of the year and a big reason why they've allowed just three goals in their past three games, but two of their wins have come against Florida and New Jersey, offenses that rank 27th and 28th in the league. The Blackhawks' offense ranks 12th.

Mikael Granlund, MIN vs. NSH ($6,500) – The 24-year-old's breakout season continues with a six-game point streak, and with 38 points in 45 games this season, he's on pace to shatter his career highs. Though the Predators and Pekka Rinne have been quite stingy of late, the Wild offense is good enough to penetrate any defense. Granlund's two-way play has been a big reason why the Wild have been so good at both ends of the ice, and should get a few opportunities to create odd-man rushes given the Predators' 394 giveaways, which is 102 more than the Wild.

Loui Eriksson, VAN at CHI ($5,400) – He's looked far more dangerous since Willie Desjardins moved him to the Sedin line permanently, and had Roberto Luongo not made a point-blank, highlight-reel robbery on Eriksson on Friday, he would've extended his point streak to three games. Having played with the Sedins on the Swedish national team, Eriksson knows very well that he's the trigger man on that line. Henrik, who is on a four-game point streak, and Daniel are playing very well, and they'll be relied on heavily against a team that they know very well.

CENTER

John Tavares, NYI vs. PHI ($8,400) – He's had the hottest hands in the league over the past week, scoring eight goals in his past five games, and the Flyers have given up the fourth most goals. He's been a little hot and cold this season, and despite the Islanders' woes, they're two games above .500 and within striking distance of a wild card playoff spot. Tavares smells blood, and he's doing everything in his power to make sure the Islanders stay in the thick of it. His strength and scoring ability below the hash marks should cause plenty of headaches, as well, as the Flyers don't really have a shutdown defender.

Bo Horvat, VAN at CHI ($5,200) – He's finally getting recognized across the league for all the good work he's done in Vancouver, and could create some matchup problems for Chicago. The Blackhawks' centers run just two deep with Jonathan Toews and Artem Anisimov, but Anisimov has struggled in the dot all year, while the Canucks can trot out three capable centermen: Henrik Sedin, Brandon Sutter and Horvat. Until Friday, Horvat had been the Canucks' leading scorer for much of the season, and his size and strength may be difficult for the Chicago defense to handle.

DEFENSE

Erik Karlsson, OTT vs. CLS ($7,400) – He's on a five-game point streak and even if Bobrovsky slams the door, Karlsson provides a lot of value as one of the league's top shot blockers. The Senators will be looking to make quick transitions out of their own zone to avoid Columbus' aggressive forecheck, and there's no better player at moving the puck up the ice than Karlsson. If Columbus manages to pin the Sens in their own zone, they'll be looking to put a lot of pucks on net as one of the league's top shot generators. Again, that should benefit Karlsson as he's been more than willing to sacrifice his body to block shots this season.

P.K. Subban, NSH at MIN ($6,500) – He didn't look rusty at all in his first game back from injury, and for someone who hasn't played in nearly a month, head coach Peter Laviolette wasn't shy about throwing him into all kinds of situations. Subban played 22 minutes and fired three shots on goal against Edmonton, and without Roman Josi (upper body), he will be Nashville's go-to guy.
