There are just three games in the NHL on Wednesday, so it's a shallow player pool. Here are a handful of recommendations across multiple price points to consider while assembling your FanDuel lineups.
GOALIE
Braden Holtby, WAS at PHI ($9,400): Not only is Washington the best team in play, but the Capitals are also the biggest favorite of the night and Holtby is the clear-cut No. 1 talent among his peers. In deeper player pools, it can be advantageous to chase value, but Holtby's high floor is worth paying up for Wednesday. After all, he boasts an elite track record – a .923 save percentage and 2.16 GAA -- over the past three seasons.
CENTER
Aleksander Barkov, FLA vs. EDM ($6,700): Since returning from a back injury, Barkov has found the scoresheet in five of seven games for five goals and eight points. He's also facing the Oilers on the second leg of back-to-back road games. While they saved No. 1 goalie Cam Talbot for the contest, the Oilers are still allowing the fifth-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes in the league.
Nicklas Backstrom, WAS at PHI ($6,700): An outing removed from an eight-game point streak with four goals and 14 points, look for Backstrom to rebound Wednesday. His 2.98 points per 60 minutes rank fifth among all skaters with at least 5,000 minutes over the past four years, and Backstrom is the No. 1 offensive center for Washington in all situations. Philadelphia also owns a league-worst .895 team save percentage, so the matchup checks out.
WING
Brad Marchand, BOS at ANA ($7,700): Dating back to early January, Marchand has an incredible 15 goals, 28 points and 67 shots while averaging 20:36 of ice time through his past 19 games. His 3.03 points per 60 minutes rank eighth among all skaters with at least 1,000 minutes this season, and Anaheim isn't a daunting matchup. The Ducks allow the seventh-most scoring chances (28.4) and ninth-most high-danger scoring chances (11.31) per 60 minutes.
Jonathan Huberdeau, FLA vs. EDM ($6,200): With four goals and eight points through seven games since returning from injury, Huberdeau is back to being a reliable fantasy asset. As noted, this projects as a favorable matchup for the Panthers, and Huberdeau has combined with linemate Aleksander Barkov for a high-end 3.36 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five over the past three seasons.
Ondrej Kase, ANA vs. BOS ($3,200): A low-priced flier, Kase has been skating with Ryan Getzlaf at 5-on-5 of late. It hasn't translated into offensive production yet, but Getzlaf has been an elite producer at even strength with a fifth-ranked 2.3 points per 60 minutes at five-on-five over the past four years. The cap space Kase opens up shouldn't be overlooked, either.
DEFENSE
Torey Krug, BOS at ANA ($5,600): With four goals, 23 points and 56 shots through his past 25 games, Krug checks out as a high-end offensive defenseman. Additionally, his 1.7 points per 60 minutes rank ninth among all rearguards with at least 1,000 minutes this season. This salary doesn't match the production.
Oscar Klefbom, EDM at FLA ($4,900): Scorching hot, Klefbom has three goals, nine points and 30 shots over his past 12 games, and he had a goal called back Tuesday. The 23-year-old defeseman was promoted to the No. 1 power-play unit recently, and his most frequent 5-on-5 forward is Connor McDavid.
