FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

The NHL regular season is not easing itself to its conclusion. There are 13 games Tuesday, which means a whopping 26 teams in action. That's a lot of options for your daily fantasy lineup. Hopefully this list of players to target will help make your decisions easier.

GOALIE

Nashville Predators, NAS vs. NYI ($16,600): The Islanders haven't been bad offensively this year, but now that they are without John Tavares, things certainly look different. New York is also 16-17-5 on the road, while Nashville is an impressive 24-9-7 at home. Pekka Rinne has a 2.44 GAA, whereas the Islanders have allowed 2.99 goals per game. The Predators seem likely to pick up the win Tuesday.

CENTER

Brayden Schenn, PHI at NJD ($11,700): Schenn has been a real force on the power play, as he's averaged 3:47 per game with the extra man, tallying 28 power-play points in 76 games. He's been hot regardless of the scenario recently, as he's notched 12 points in his last 12 tilts. The Devils have given up 2.90 goals and 31.5 shots on net per game and have the 21st-ranked penalty kill, which likely isn't going to concern Schenn too much.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS at TOR ($11,100): Kuznetsov has started 36.6 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, which is fourth most of any Capital. That should give him plenty of opportunities against a Maple Leafs team that has allowed 32.9 shots on net per contest. Toronto will also be on the second night of a back-to-back, and the Leafs have allowed 33.8 shots on goal on zero days of rest. Additionally, the Leafs will be starting journeyman backup Curtis McElhinney, another point in Kuznetsov's favor.

WING

Artemi Panarin, CHI at COL ($13,500): Panarin has started a whopping 45.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, one of the highest totals in the entire NHL. He's also averaged 3:06 per game on the power play, notching 16 points in that time. However, a player doesn't need to start in the offensive zone as frequently as Panarin does to excel in a matchup against Colorado. The Avalanche have allowed a staggering 3.37 goals per game, and their penalty kill ranks 29th.

Jamie Benn, DAL vs. ARI ($13,100): Benn has averaged a healthy 14.09 fantasy points per game, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him match, and perhaps surpass, that number against the Coyotes. Arizona has allowed 3.15 goals and 34.1 shots on net per contest. Benn has taken 192 shots on goal in 74 games, and he's also tallied 25 power-play points. The Coyotes also have the 24th-ranked penalty kill, so Benn could easily add to that total Tuesday.

Patrick Marleau, SAN vs. VAN ($11,000): Marleau lit the lamp when these teams met Sunday, but that's not the reason to put him in your lineup. No, the reason for that is because he's notched 27 goals on 189 shots in 79 games. Also, he's played 3:02 per game on the power play, and he's tallied 16 points with the extra man. The Canucks have given up 2.90 goals and 31.8 shots on net per game, and their penalty kill is ranked 27th.

DEFENSEMEN

Brent Seabrook, CHI at COL ($9,400): Seabrook has started 36.8 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, and he's played 2:42 per night with the extra man. While he's only managed three goals on the season, he has 36 helpers, including six in his last nine games. Colorado, as previously noted, has given up 3.37 goals per game. Add in the Avalanche's 29th-ranked penalty kill, and Seabrook has an immensely favorable matchup.

Alex Goligoski, ARI at DAL ($7,000): Goligoski is currently enjoying a four-game point streak, and it would not be surprising to see him make it five against Dallas. The Stars have given up 3.14 goals per game, and they have the worst penalty kill in the NHL. While Goligoski only has seven power-play points, he's averaged 2:11 per game with the extra man. If he does that against Dallas' woeful penalty kill, perhaps he will find some luck. On top of that, the Stars are sixth in the league in shot attempts per 60 minutes (58.9) and Goligoski has blocked 138 shots in 79 games, so he could pick up a little extra fantasy value on the defensive end of the ice.
