DraftKings NHL: Friday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Friday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

The two Western Conference matchups hit the ice Friday with the home teams both facing a 1-0 deficit after losing their respective Game 1s. Look for a bounce-back push from Anaheim, but St. Louis could be in tough against the Predators. Here are a number of players to consider while assembling your DraftKings lineups from the shallow player pool…

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA vs. EDM ($8,000): There has been some hit or miss in Gibson's game to start the postseason, and the Ducks have been surrendering a lot of high-danger chances. However, Gibson has also allowed two goals or fewer in three of his five playoff starts, and this is a must-win game for Anaheim. It's a bounce-back setup.

CENTER

Ryan Getzlaf, ANA vs. EDM ($7,200): Currently boasting a high fantasy floor and ceiling, Getzlaf is a strong recommendation. He's registered 11 goals and 41 points through his past 30 games dating back to the regular season, and he's posted three multi-point showings through five postseason games.

Mike Fisher, NAS at STL ($4,000): The veteran pivot turned in his best showing of the playoffs in Game 1 with four shots on net, but he's still looking for his first point of the postseason. After notching 42 points in regular season with a respectable 2.11 points per 60 minutes during the regular season, there's positive regression ahead for Fisher.

WING

Filip Forsberg, NAS at STL ($6,700): With three goals, three assists and 15 shots during his five-game point streak, Forsberg is chipping in plenty of offense. He's a high-floor option averaging 20:05 of ice time and 2:12 with the man advantage. Forsberg has also combined with linemates Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson to post a league-best 6.63 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five during the playoffs.

Patrick Eaves, ANA vs. EDM ($5,900): Somewhat quietly, Eaves has collected 11 goals, 14 points and 44 shots through his past 16 games dating back to the regular season. He's also found the scoresheet in four of five playoff games while averaging 16:46 of ice time with a hefty 2:45 on the power play. Eaves is a nice stack option alongside linemate Ryan Getzlaf, as the winger helps mitigate the pivot's large salary.

Colin Wilson, NAS at STL ($3,100): The winger is turning into a reliable postseason producer with 11 goals and 19 points through his past 21 spring games. He logged 15:06 of ice time and registered four shots on net in Game 1, and he also climbed up the depth chart with James Neal and Mike Fisher after Kevin Fiala (leg) was injured. This is an easy salary to accommodate, too.

DEFENSE

Roman Josi, NAS at STL ($6,300): While two goals and two assists through five games are excellent numbers, Josi might slide under the radar with his blue-line peers garnering headlines this postseason. He provides a target-worthy fantasy floor because of his huge minutes and peripheral contributions. He's up to 18 shots, 15 blocked shots and an average of 26:53 of ice time (2:02 with the man advantage) through five playoff games.

Oscar Klefbom, EDM at ANA ($5,100): Despite missing most of Game 6 against San Jose with an illness, Klefbom has still marked the scoresheet in three consecutive outings and received 4:51 of power-play time in Game 1 against Anaheim. His strong play dates back to the regular season, as he's been a high-end contributor with 12 points, 27 shots and 22 blocked shots through his past 13 contests, too.
