FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Tonight's main slate features four games starting at 7:00 PM Eastern time. Two matchups to look at include two of the early-season offensive powerhouses with the Maple Leafs hosting the Blackhawks, as well as the Alexander Ovechkin-led Capitals taking on Lightning. Here are some players to consider when building your FanDuel lineups tonight…

Goalie

John Gibson, ANA vs CAL ($8,500): In 26 home starts, Gibson went 17-7-2 with a .934 save percentage and a GAA of just 1.94 last year. At $8,500 for Gibson, we're getting nice value for a guy who should see upwards of 30 shots.

Center

Tyler Bozak, TOR vs CHI ($5,400): The Maple Leafs have started off the year with a whopping 15 goals in their first two games. Bozak has been active with one goals and two assists thus far and is a nice value at center compared to teammate Auston Matthews. Bozak skates with Mitch Marner and James van Riemsdyk — a line that has been one of the more productive formations over that last year — and sees time on the top power-play unit.

Bryan Little, WPG at EDM ($5,500): As the second-line center of the Jets, Little skates with two young dynamic wingers in Patrik Laine and Nikolaj Ehlers. In two games thus far, he has five shots on goal and has skated around 16 minutes on average. Little also sees time on the power play.

Wing

Jakub Vrana, WAS at TB ($4,300): Whenever a player is on a line with Alexander Ovechkin, they're automatically in a good spot to produce. At a bargain price thus far this season, Vrana has done just that with three assists in two games. His salary is low enough that it's possible to stack him with Ovechkin and center Evgeny Kuznetsov.

Nikolaj Ehlers, WPG at EDM ($5,200): Ehlers hasn't made it onto the scoresheet just yet, but he's been skating well and using his speed to create chances. It's only a matter of time before he produces at this low salary.

Patrick Maroon, EDM vs WPG ($5,200): Much like Jakub Vrana, Maroon is a value winger that has the luxury of playing on the same line as a superstar in Connor McDavid. Along with his time on the top line, he also skates on the top power-play unit. Maroon has two assists and five shots on goal thus far in two games.

Defense

Cam Fowler, ANA vs CAL ($5,000): Fowler is an anchor on the blue line for the Ducks as a contributor on the top defensive pairing, top power-play unit and the penalty kill. He's averaging around 26 minutes of ice time in the Ducks' first two games and has one goal, which came shorthanded, three shots on net and four blocked shots. At $5,000, he comes in as the seventh highest priced defenseman Monday, which is a nice price point given the upside.

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs WPG ($5,100): Klefbom is severely underpriced for the production and upside he brings to the table. He hasn't made his way onto the scoresheet yet this season, but in two games he's been heavily involved, logging 11 shots on goal, averaging over 23 minutes of ice time, and seeing time on the Oilers' top power-play unit.
