FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Thomas Greiss, NYI at MINN $7,400: Greiss is the best value play at the goalie positionThursday, even if this is a tough matchup against the Wild. In this last three games, Greiss has 22.4, 40, and 18.4 FanDuel points and has won two of those three games.

Center

Brayden Point, TB vs DET $5,300: The Lightning bring their high-powered offensive attack into a matchup with the Red Wings, and Point stands out as a nice value play. He has one goal and two assists in his last two games and the Red Wings are allowing the fifth most fantasy points to centers.

Derek Stepan, ARI vs NYR $5,400: It's going to be an awkward night in Madison Square Garden for Stepan and most Rangers fans. After spending his entire career with the Rangers, Stepan returns as a member of a young Coyotes team that has struggled thus far. Stepan has two goals and an assist in his last three games to go along with nine shots on goal. The Rangers are allowing the second most fantasy points to centers and we could expect some extra motivation from the top-line center Thursday.

Wing

Patric Hornqvist, PIT vs WPG $5,600: Hornqvist has three goals and two assists thus far, but that production has come in just eight games. After missing the beginning of the season due to injury, Hornqvist had a goal and an assist in his first game of the season and has been skating well. He's a nice value on the third line and top power-play unit in a game that should see a lot of goals.

Sebastian Aho, CAR at TOR $5,100: Aho is a young kid with a ton of talent, much of which he showed last season. Off to a slow start thus far, he will look to take advantage of a Maple Leafs team that is allowing the sixth most fantasy points to left wingers. He's skating on the first line and top power-play unit for the Hurricanes.

Jakob Silfverberg, ANA at FLA $4,500: Silfverberg is still looking to get his game together as he has just two points thus far. He has an opportunity to get going in this matchup against a Panthers team that is allowing the seventh most fantasy points to right wingers and is without it's top netminder in Roberto Luongo.

Defense

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs DAL $5,300: Klefbom had an assist, three shots on goal, and two blocks in over 25 minutes of ice time last game. He's also averaging 3.57 shots on goal and three blocked shots on the season. Even though he hasn't racked up the points, Klefbom is still a nice value against a Stars team that has struggled at goal suppression.

Jacob Trouba, WIN at PIT $4,400: The Penguins continue to struggle defensively and have allowed the most fantasy points to defensemen this year. Trouba sees a lot of ice time and is dangerous offensively while also producing in the shot-blocking department. He offers a solid floor with his price.
