FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Thursday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Tuukka Rask, BOS vs VGK ($8,100): Rask will be looking to avenge a loss to Vegas on Oct. 15th, as he had been off to a slow start before getting injured. The Bruins are one of the heaviest favorites on the slate, showing that Rask has a great chance to come away with a victory at a very cap-friendly price.

Center

Brayden Point, TB vs NYR ($5,300): The Lightning have been a wrecking crew thus far, scoring goals at ease — especially at home. Point is a value pivot off of Steven Stamkos and a guy that's been productive. He has six goals, eight assists, and is averaging two shots on net in the first 13 contests.

Ryan O'Reilly, BUF at ARI ($5,400): In a game that could see a lot of scoring, O'Reilly shapes up as an elite value option for the Sabres at the center position. He has eight points, four goals and four assists, averages 20 minutes of ice time and skates on the power play. The Coyotes are allowing over four goals per game, and with O'Reilly averaging 2.83 shots on goal, he's a good bet to bury one in this matchup.

Wing

Vladislav Namestnikov, TB vs NYR ($5,900): The situation couldn't be any better for Namestnikov skating on the Lightning's top line with Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov. He has five goals and eight assists thus far for a total of 13 points, and two of his tallies have come on the power play. At $5,900 salary is more than manageable and makes Namestnikov an attractive option.

Boone Jenner, CBJ at FLA ($4,700): I was all over Jenner last game, and he was able to score his first goal of the season against the Bruins. He looks to be back to form after missing the beginning of the season due to injury. In that game against the Bruins, Jenner played around 21 minutes and took five shots on goal. He's a steal at under 5K.

Alexander Radulov, DAL at WPG ($6,000): This game features two high-powered offense, so we may see a goal fest in Winnipeg on Thursday. Radulov has been on fire with goals in each of his last three games along with three assists and 10 shots. He skates on the top line with Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn and is substantially less expensive.

Defense

TJ Brodie, CGY vs PIT ($4,800): The Penguins just played last night in Edmonton and have been one of the worst teams in the league at defending the defense position. Don't expect Brodie's stick to be cold for long, as he is still seeing more than enough ice time (24 minutes on average) to produce.

Rasmus Ristolainen, BUF at ARI ($5,000): Ristolainen has been a major disappointment offensively thus far with just four points (all assists) in the Sabres' first 12 games. He's averaging over 26 minutes of ice time, which is the most of any defenseman in the league, so that isn't the issue. He's averaging over two shots on goal per game, so it's only a matter of time before he breaks through. A date with the league's worst team could certainly spark him.
