DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Devan Dubnyk, MIN vs. PHI ($7,600): Philadelphia enters with the sixth fewest high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (9.64) at five-on-five in the league, and the Flyers were also blanked by Minnesota last time out. Dubnyk has consecutive shutouts, and he sports a rock-solid .920 save percentage for the campaign. The Wild still aren't fully healthy up front, but their team defense is rounding into form in front of Dubnyk over the past 10 contests with just 8.77 high-danger scoring chances allowed per 60 minutes at five-on-five.

CENTER

Sidney Crosby, PIT vs. BUF ($7,400): With just three assists through the past 11 games, the dry spell has Crosby's salary down significantly. Take the discount and run, as there is no apparent explanation for No. 87's struggles. He's averaging 20:30 of ice time per outing with 4:22 on the power play, and reuniting with Jake Guentzel at even strength should kick-start a bounce-back stretch.

Aleksander Barkov, FLA vs. DAL ($6,300): The Stars surrendered five goals to Carolina on Monday, and backup Kari Lehtonen will likely start against Florida. The Finnish backstop sports a target-worthy .904 save percentage over the past four seasons, and Barkov has recorded 17 points through 16 games this year. The 22-year-old center also boasts significant upside with five multi-point showing.

WING

Patrick Maroon, EDM vs. VGK ($5,500): While the top-line winger is sporting a five-game point drought, Maroon has also recorded seven shots in consecutive games. Additionally, skating with the No. 1 power-play unit further helps his fantasy floor. This should also prove to be a cushy matchup with Vegas allowing 3.02 goals and 13.6 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes at five-on-five on the road.

Jake Guentzel, PIT vs. BUF ($5,200): The sophomore appears to be heating up with two goals and an assist through his past four outings, but more importantly, Guentzel is projected to flank Sidney Crosby. The duo showcased deft chemistry last season, and Buffalo has surrendered the fifth most goals per 60 minutes (3.42) in the league.

Kyle Connor, WPG vs. ARI ($5,100): The rookie has settled into a go-to role alongside Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler in all situations and posted four goals, eight points and 20 shots through 11 contests. Connor offers great value against Arizona, as the Coyotes have allowed the most goals (3.82) and rank highest in expected goals per 60 minutes in the league.

DEFENSE

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs. VGK ($5,200): As noted, this projects as a solid matchup for the Oilers, and Klefbom remains their power-play quarterback on the No. 1 unit. He's posted just a single goal and three helpers for the campaign, but buoyed his value through 55 shots and 40 blocked shots. So, after posting a respectable 1.24 points per 60 minutes last season, there is statistical correction ahead of his current 0.59 mark.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, ARI at WPG ($4,300): The minute-eating defenseman has collected a respectable four points -- one goal -- and 16 shots while logging 27:33 of ice time (3:05 on the power play) through his past six games. This salary doesn't match Ekman-Larsson's recent form or his long-standing offensive track record. Plus, whenever a defenseman is playing nearly half a game, he provides a respectable fantasy floor.
