FantasyDraft NHL: Sunday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

After a couple busy days for the NHL, Sunday is a step back on the schedule front. There are three games on the slate, and they are all afternoon games. That means you must get your lineup in by 1:00 p.m. ET. Be ready early, and consider these players for your lineup.

GOALIE

Nashville Predators, NAS at CAR ($16,000): The Predators have been playing great hockey recently, as they have a 9-1-0 record in their last 10 games, and they've won four in a row. Pekka Rinne has also been impressive this year, posting a 2.31 GAA and a .927 save percentage. On the special teams front, Nashville is in the top 10 on the penalty kill, while Carolina is in the bottom 10 on the power play. That more that suffices on a day without any appetizing goaltending options elsewhere.

CENTER

Leon Draisaitl, EDM at BOS ($13,300): Draisaitl has 17 points through 19 games, even though he doesn't have a power-play point yet. He had 27 last season, so that will likely change. After sitting a few games for Anton Khudobin, Tuukka Rask will be in net for this game. He has a 2.89 GAA and a .897 save percentage thus far, which could be favorable for Draisaitl.

David Krejci, BOS vs. EDM ($9,000): Krejci finally got back on the score sheet after returning from injury, as he had two points in Boston's last game. He's got eight points through 10 contests, including four with the extra man. The Oilers have a team GAA of 3.30 and a team save percentage of .893. They also have been terrible on the penalty kill, which bodes well for Krejci.

WING

Pavel Buchnevich, NYR vs. VAN ($12,700): In the month of November, the Canucks have a team GAA of 3.08, and they've allowed 32.8 shots on net per contest. Their penalty kill also ranks 26th in that time. Buchnevich has started 56.2 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, second most among New York forwards, and he's averaged 3:16 per game on the power play. That's helped him notch eight points with the extra man through 23 games.

Brock Boeser, VAN at NYR ($11,900): Boeser has averaged 16.70 fantasy points per contest, thanks in part to 22 points (10 on the power play). He's also in the middle of a six-game point streak, and he's had eight points in that time. The Rangers have a team GAA of 2.96, and they've allowed 32.2 shots on net per tilt.

Jake DeBrusk, BOS vs. EDM ($7,700): DeBrusk has played some strong hockey recently, tallying six points in his last five games. In four of those tilts, he's put four shots on net, and he has 49 through 20 contests. He's also started 59.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. Cam Talbot may be able to return from his illness that kept him out of Edmonton's last game, but even so, he has a 3.13 GAA and a .901 save percentage.

DEFENSEMEN

Torey Krug, BOS vs. EDM ($10,400): Krug has started 64.1 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most among Boston's defensemen. He's also played even more on the power play than usual, as he's averaged 4:06 per game with the extra man. While Krug only has two power-play points through 17 games, that's likely to change. It could defensively happen against the Oilers, who rank in the bottom five in penalty-kill percentage. Perhaps this is the game when Krug starts to get in the power-play groove.

Mattias Ekholm, NAS at CAR ($8,700): With Ryan Ellis out, Ekholm's minutes are up. He's averaged 24:52 per game in ice time, and he's up to 2:36 per tilt on the power play. Ekholm has six power-play points, a new career high already. Carolina has been mediocre on the penalty kill, and it also has a team save percentage of .898. Ekholm also has 32 blocked shots, so he can add a little more fantasy value there.
