FantasyDraft NHL: Tuesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

There are technically 10 games Tuesday, but one of them is the rare afternoon weekday game. Still, that leaves you with nine games, and 18 teams, worth of players to choose from. Here are some of my favorite values…

GOALIE

New York Rangers, NYR vs. ANA ($16,900): The Rangers are 13-5-3 at home, and the Ducks are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back. Anaheim also was only averaging 29.0 shots on net per contest before Monday's matchup. Meanwhile, Henrik Lundqvist is 10-4-0 in his last 14 games, and he has a 2.27 GAA and a .932 save percentage in those contests.

CENTER

Jonathan Drouin, MON at VAN ($10,900): Drouin has started 59.5 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, third most on the Canadiens. He hasn't scored since returning from injury, but he has six shots in those games, and overall he has seven power-play points in 28 contests. Meanwhile, since the beginning of November, Jacob Markstrom has a 2.86 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

Mathew Barzal, NYI vs. DET ($10,900): Barzal has 29 points through 33 games, including 21 assists. The rookie has also averaged 3:25 per game on the power play, notching nine points with the extra man. Detroit has a team GAA of 3.19, and it has also allowed 31.8 shots on net per tilt. The Wings have been even worse recently, as Jimmy Howard has a 3.68 GAA and .872 save percentage in his last 12 contests.

WING

Rick Nash, NYR vs. ANA ($11,800): Nash has nine goals and eight assists through 33 games, but he really excels at putting the puck on net. The veteran has a whopping 104 shots on goal this year. Before playing Monday, the Ducks had allowed 35.5 shots on net per contest, most in the NHL. Nash should add to his shot total Tuesday, and if he manages to light the lamp he'll be a nice fantasy value.

Evgenii Dadonov, FLA at ARI ($10,500): Dadonov has returned from injury, and he's currently on the first line for the Panthers. The Russian has 19 points and 62 shots on goal through 25 games, including six with the extra man. He's averaged 3:40 per game on the power play, so he should remain successful on that front. The Coyotes have the league's worst team GAA (3.46 and have allowed an average of 33.0 shots on net.

Max Domi, ARI vs. FLA ($6,700): Domi only has 18 points, but that has included a real lack of puck luck. He's put 84 shots on net through 35 games, but the 22-year-old has a mere 3.6 shooting percentage. If he regresses toward the mean, the fantasy points will follow. This could be the matchup that makes it happen. The Panthers have a team GAA of 3.42 and have allowed a whopping 35.3 shots on net per contest.

DEFENSEMEN

Ryan Suter, MIN at OTT ($11,300): Suter has four points in his last five games, giving him 19 points overall. He's also put 71 shots on net, and blocked 66 shots. The Senators have a team GAA of 3.19, and also a team save percentage of .896. Ottawa has the 28th-ranked penalty kill, and Suter has six points with the extra man.

Aaron Ekblad, FLA at ARI ($10,800): Ekblad has averaged a career-high 24:00 this season and recorded six goals on 90 shots through 33 games. Last year, he tallied 225 shots on net in 68 tilts, so we know he can put the puck on goal. That usually turns out well against the Coyotes given their league-worst team GAA.
