FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

It's a lighter Saturday than usual in the NHL, with only six games on the slate. However, that still gives you plenty of options for your daily fantasy lineup. Hopefully this article will help make those decisions easier.

GOALIE

Boston Bruins, BOS at OTT ($17,300): The Bruins are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games, and the Senators are on their second night of a back-to-back. That won't help an Ottawa offense that ranks in the bottom five in goals per game. Boston, on the other hand, has a 2.56 GAA and has only given up 29.8 shots per contest.

CENTER

Aleksander Barkov, FLA vs. MON ($13,800): Barkov has racked up the assists this year (22 in 36 games), but he's been putting a lot of shots on net as well recently. In his last four outings he's notched 18 shots on goal. Additionally, the 22-year-old has averaged 3:27 per game on the power play, and the Canadiens have the 28th-ranked penalty kill.

Ryan Johansen, NAS vs. MIN ($11,200): Since returning from a three-game absence, Johansen has six points in eight games. Nashville and Minnesota are on the second leg of a home-and-home, but the Predators are the ones playing host Saturday. That's a good thing for Johansen and company, as the Wild have a 3.50 GAA on the road.

WING

Tyler Toffoli, LOS at VAN ($11,800): Toffoli has notched 16 goals on 119 shots through 38 games, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him add to that total in this matchup. The Canucks have had a December to forget, as this month they have a 3.92 GAA, second highest in the NHL. If you want a bigger sample size, since the beginning of November, Jacob Markstrom has a 2.88 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

T.J. Oshie, WAS vs. NYD ($10,900): Oshie has struggled a bit since returning from injury, but he is starting to heat up. In his last three games he's registered 12 shots on net. The minutes have certainly been there, as he's averaged 19:51 per game, including 4:09 on the power play. The points should follow in time. This could be the night for it, as the Devils are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back, and they allowed 33.1 shots on net per contest before Friday's game.

Jake DeBrusk, BOS at OTT ($7,700): DeBrusk has started 65.7 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, a healthy number for a forward. He's also played well recently, notching seven points and 28 shots on net in his last 10 games. The Senators are going to be playing their second game in as many nights, and before Friday's matchup with the Blue Jackets they had a 3.26 GAA.

DEFENSEMEN

Drew Doughty, LOS at VAN ($13,200): As noted, the Canucks have a 3.92 GAA in December, and overall their team GAA is 3.18, which ranks in the bottom 10. Doughty, for his part, has 28 points and 107 shots on net through 38 games. Nine of the 28-year-old's points have come on the power play, and Vancouver has the 26th-ranked penalty kill.

Jeff Petry, MON at FLA ($8,800): With Shea Weber out, Petry finds himself carrying a bigger load for the Canadiens on defense. That can be seen in his shooting, as in his last six games he's tallied 22 shots on net. He's also been a power-play contributor, having notched seven points with the extra man. The Panthers have a 3.22 GAA and more notably have allowed a league-high 35.3 shots on net per game.
