DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Henrik Lundqvist, NYR vs. CHI ($8,300): This is the final stop of a six-game road trip for the Blackhawks, but it's been an extremely odd stretch because the first two contests were in Dallas and New Jersey before visiting the three Western Canadian teams. Throw in travel for the holiday break, and this appears to be a favorable schedule spot for the Rangers. Plus, Lundqvist sports a 15-5-2 record, .932 save percentage and 2.29 GAA since the calendar flipped to November.

CENTER

Henrik Zetterberg, DET vs. OTT ($5,300): With a go-to role and solid recent form (nine points and 17 shots through his past nine games), Zetterberg is a solid options against the Senators. Ottawa has lost eight straight on the road dating back to Dec. 1 and allowed 24 goals through its latest six contests, after all.

Matt Duchene, OTT at DET ($4,300): A contrarian flier, Duchene has just a single goal, assist and 16 shots through his past 10 contests. However, his salary is way down, and the 26-year-old center owns game-breaking offensive upside. Additionally, the Red Wings enter with an underwhelming 5-8-4 active record while allowing 3.52 goals per 60 minutes, so it's a favorable matchup.

WING

Mats Zuccarello, NYR vs. CHI ($6,100): A high-floor option locked into a go-to offensive role, Zuccarello has collected four goals, 10 points and 42 shots while logging 19:27 of ice time (2:24 on the power play) through his past 13 contests. As noted, the Blackhawks are in a tough schedule spot, so the Norwegian checks out as a particularly intriguing value.

Bobby Ryan, OTT at DET ($3,600): The veteran has recorded a respectable four goals, five points and 18 shots through his past seven contests and presents a cost-effective stack with linemate Matt Duchene. With a shallow player pool, it'll be difficult to find low-owned skaters receiving top-six minutes and power-play time, but the Ryan-Duchene stack shouldn't be too chalky.

Tyler Bertuzzi, DET vs. OTT ($2,800): The Detroit brass told Bertuzzi to find a permanent residence in Motor City, and the young winger has already settled into a top-line gig alongside Henrik Zetterberg and Gustav Nyquist. Bertuzzi recorded a pair of assists last time out and offers considerable cap relief without sacrificing upside at this salary, especially in this noted favorable matchup.

DEFENSE

Erik Karlsson, OTT at DET ($6,900): With limited options, spending up on the blue line can be a means of differentiating lineups, and Karlsson offers the high-floor, high-ceiling profile worthy of getting off your wallet for. He also appears to be finding his elite form with two goals, four assists, 22 shots and 16 blocked shots through his past seven contests.

Kevin Shattenkirk, NYR vs. CHI ($4,500): As noted, the Rangers should be in a favorable spot against the Blackhawks, and Shattenkirk is their No. 1 offensive defenseman, who's also sporting a manageable salary. So, with the New York native entering with just three assists through his past 12 games, banking on positive regression from the established producer could pay off handsomely. After all, even with his recent slide, Shattenkirk sports a high-end 1.81 points per 60 minutes dating back to the 2014-15 campaign.
