FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Values

FantasyDraft NHL: Saturday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

Even with four afternoon games not included for daily fantasy purposes, you still have nine contests worth of players to choose from Saturday. That means you have a lot of options. These are some of the best of the bunch.

GOALIE

Boston Bruins, BOS at MON ($16,500): The Bruins are 7-0-3 in their last 10 games, and even though they are on the road they are 1-5-4 away from home, so that's no issue. On top of that, the Canadiens are on the second night of a back-to-back. Tuukka Rask is having an outstanding season, as he has a 2.21 GAA and a .920 save percentage.

CENTER

Brayden Schenn, STL vs. ARI ($13,400): Schenn has tallied 18 goals and 28 assists in 48 games, and he's also averaged the most minutes per game of his career. That's giving the veteran even more opportunities than he had in Philadelphia. The Coyotes have a 3.45 GAA, second most in the NHL, and a .892 team save percentage as well.

Tomas Hertl, SAN vs. PIT ($10,100): Hertl has an assist in each of his last two games, and he had six shots on net in his last contest as well. He's also averaged 2:55 on the power play, and he's tallied nine points with the extra man. The Penguins have a 3.04 GAA, and away from home that number rises to 3.28.

WING

David Pastrnak, BOS at MON ($13,200): Pastrnak is second on the Bruins in points (41) and shots on net (117). This comes after he broke out last season with 34 goals and 70 points. The Habs are on the second night of a back-to-back, and even though they save Carey Price for this game he's really struggled this year (2.96 GAA, .908 save percentage). Additionally, Montreal has the 26th-ranked penalty kill, and Pastrnak has 14 points with the extra man.

Kevin Fiala, NAS vs. FLA ($11,700): Fiala has started 59.9 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, most of any Nashville forward. In his last five games, he's put 17 shots on net as well. That bodes well heading into this matchup. The Panthers are on the second night of a back-to-back, and before Friday's game they had allowed a league-high 35.1 shots on goal per contest. The Swiss winger should put a few more pucks on net in this one.

Thomas Vanek, VAN at EDM ($9,200): In his last 11 games, Vanek has six goals and eight assists. Overall, he has 13 points on the power play in 45 games as well. The Oilers have the worst penalty kill in the NHL. If there is ever a game for Vanek to have success with the extra man, it's this one.

DEFENSE

Duncan Keith, CHI vs. NYI ($10,800): Keith still has no goals, but he's put 105 shots on net in 45 games, so eventually he's going to light the lamp. This could be the day. The Islanders have a 3.66 GAA, the worst in the league by a wide margin. New York has also given up 34.6 shots per game. Even if Keith doesn't light the lamp, he has 22 assists, so we know he can pick up a helper or two.

Oscar Klefbom, EDM vs. VAN ($10,400): Klefbom hasn't scored quite like he did last season, but he has a 2.4 shooting percentage that could easily improve. The Swede has put 125 shots on net through 42 games, including 28 in nine contests since returning from injury. Jacob Markstrom has a 3.22 GAA and a .895 save percentage in his last 13 games, and the Canucks also have the 27th-ranked penalty kill. Plus, Klefbom has blocked 90 shots, so he could add some fantasy value on that front.
