FantasyDraft NHL: Wednesday Values

This article is part of our FantasyDraft NHL series.

It's Valentine's Day, and what better way to celebrate than with some daily fantasy hockey? Here are some players I'd recommend for your lineup based on Wednesday's three NHL games.

GOALIE

Colorado Avalanche, COL vs. MON ($16,400): Though both the Avalanche and Canadiens are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games, Colorado is 19-7-1 at home while Montreal is 8-16-1 on the road. The Habs have also only scored 2.58 goals per game, fourth worst in the NHL. Meanwhile, Colorado has a team GAA of 2.48 in Denver.

CENTER

Nazem Kadri, TOR vs. CLM ($11,400): Kadri has 10 points in his last nine games, including four on the power play. Overall, he has 12 points with the extra man through 56 contests. The Blue Jackets have the 27th-ranked penalty kill, and they are also on the road for the second night of a back-to-back. Columbus' penalty kill isn't going to get any better under those circumstances.

Henrik Sedin, VAN vs. FLA ($9,000): Sedin has started a whopping 74.0 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, one of the highest totals in the entire NHL. While the veteran Swede may only have two goals, he has 34 assists in 56 games, including 13 on the power play. The Panthers have a 3.19 team GAA, so this is a fine matchup for Sedin to exploit.

WING

Evgenii Dadonov, FLA at VAN ($13,700): Dadonov lit the lamp twice in his last game and over his last 11 contests he has six goals on 40 shots. Meanwhile, the Canucks have a 3.16 team GAA and have allowed 32.0 shots on net per game. Vancouver also has the 25th-ranked penalty kill, and Dadonov has nine power-play points in 45 games.

Gabriel Landeskog, COL vs. MON ($11,800): Landeskog has 19 goals and 22 assists through 51 games. He's also averaged 3:33 per contest with the extra man, notching nine points in the process. The Canadiens have a 3.07 team GAA, and Carey Price has actually been a part of the problem. In his last 11 contests, Price has a 2.98 GAA and an .895 save percentage.

James van Riemsdyk, TOR vs. CLM ($11,500): Van Riemsdyk's minutes have dropped, and he did go through a rough patch, but in his last four games he has three goals, one assist, and 15 shots on net. The Blues Jackets are on the road for the second night of a back-to-back in this one. On the road, Columbus has a 3.15 team GAA, and on zero days of rest it has a 2.85 team GAA.

DEFENSE

Alexander Edler, VAN vs. FLA ($11,400): Edler has put 109 shots on net in 44 games, and he would have more points if he didn't have a staggeringly low 1.8 percent shooting rate. He's also blocked a whopping 122 shots, which adds a decent amount of fantasy value. The Panthers have allowed 34.7 shots on goal per game, second worst in the NHL, so Edler should be able to put some more pucks on net against Florida.

Erik Johnson, COL vs. MON ($9,400): Johnson has put 150 shots on goal in 53 games, notching seven goals in the process. As previously noted, the Canadiens have a 3.07 team GAA, but they've been even worse on the road. Montreal has a 3.40 team GAA away from home and it has given up 32.4 shots on net per contest as well.
