FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Jimmy Howard, DET at NYR ($7,700): Howard and the Red Wings play their second game in as many nights Sunday. The Rangers have become an unmitigated disaster and are looking to unload players left and right. Over their last five games (all losses), the Blueshirts have totaled just 11 goals. In his last three starts against the Rangers, Howard has allowed just five goals while seeing an average of 34.3 shots per game.

Center

Henrik Zetterberg, DET at NYR ($5,800): The Swedish veteran has taken a step back in production overall but does have two goals, an assist and 11 shots on goal over his last four games. The Rangers have allowed 25 goals and 31 assists to centers over their last 12 contests, contributing to them surrendering the most fantasy points to the position over the last month. With their season in disarray, the Rangers have lost each of their last six games while allowing 26 goals over that span.

Bo Horvat, VAN at ARI ($5,800): The Coyotes are coming off a great performance Saturday in a victory over the Ducks but could be in a vulnerable spot Sunday. Horvat comes in with four goals and 17 shots on goal over his last six games and poses a threat to Arizona, who allows 3.28 goals per game, the third-highest average in the league.

Wing

Brendan Perlini, ARI vs VAN ($3,600): Skating on the first line with Derek Stepan and Clayton Keller, Perlini is a supreme value in a favorable matchup. The Canucks have allowed 14 goals to left wingers in their last 12 games. The 21-year-old has 16 goals on the season, five of which have come on the power play.

Zach Parise, MIN vs SJ ($5,700): The six-time 30-goal scorer has been limited this season due to injury but finds himself in a prime matchup at home Sunday. The Sharks have allowed the most fantasy point to left wingers over the last month and Parise has enjoyed recent success against them. The 33-year old has three goals, five assists and 3.16 shots per game over his last six outings against them.

Jakob Silfverberg, ANH vs EDM ($5,200): Silfverberg's production has dipped this season after back-to-back 20-goal campaigns. The Swede will look to victimize the Oilers on Sunday just as he did in the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs. In the teams' seven-game series, Silfverberg recorded five goals, dished out three assists and fired 28 shots on goal. The Oilers have taken a major step back defensively this year, allowing 3.25 goals per game, which is 27th in the NHL.

Defense

Mathew Dumba, MIN vs SJ ($4,700): Dumba is often the forgotten man on the blue line for the Wild, with guys like Ryan Suter and Jared Spurgeon at the forefront of most DFS players. Dumba stands out because he produces fantasy points in numerous ways, specifically over his last five games, in which the 23-year-old has three assists, 14 shots on goal and 12 blocked shots while averaging 26 minutes of ice time per outing. The Sharks have been generous to defensemen of late, allowing eight goals and 20 assists to them over their last 14 games.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, ARI vs VAN ($5,400): The lack of production this season from OEL is puzzling, but he's due for positive regression. The highly skilled blueliner is sporting a 5.5 shooting percentage -- his lowest mark since 2012-13. In his previous three seasons, the Swede has posted an 8.7 shooting percentage and sits at 7.5 for his career. The goals are going to come, and Vancouver looks like a potential victim: They've surrendered 36 tallies to defensemen on the campaign, which is good for the second-highest total in the league.
