FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Goalie

Antti Raanta, ARI at EDM ($7,500): The 28-year-old Finn has won six of his last seven starts, allowing a total of six goals in those six victories. One of those wins came back on Feb. 17 against the Oilers, a game in which Raanta stopped all 40 shots en route to a shutout win. The Oilers have been inconsistent offensively and Raanta has a ton of confidence heading into tonight's tilt.

Center

Bo Horvat, VAN vs NYI ($5,900): Horvat has two goals and two assists in his last two games and gets a matchup with the lackluster Islanders defense on Monday. The Islanders have allowed 12 goals and 17 assists to centers over their last 13 games while their last six and allowing 21 goals in the process.

Derek Stepan, ARI at EDM ($6,000): In a matchup of two disappointing teams, Stepan draws a good matchup, as the Oilers have allowed the second-most fantasy points to centers over the last four weeks. Over that span, which includes 15 games, they've surrendered 25 goals and 24 assists to the position. With shaky goaltending from Edmonton, specifically Cam Talbot, who's allowed 12 goals in his last three outings, Stepan sticks out as a top value option Monday.

Wing

Brock Boeser, VAN vs NYI ($6,600): Boeser is another Canuck worth looking at in a soft matchup against the Islanders. The Islanders have allowed the most fantasy points to right wingers over the last four weeks, including 16 goals and 17 assists surrendered over that span. The rookie has a point in five of his last six outings including two goals, four assists and 20 SOG.

Patric Hornqvist, PIT vs CGY ($6,000): The Penguins 24-8-1 home record and 3.23 GPG mark stick out in this matchup against the Flames. Hornqvist has two goals and an assist in his last four games and is second in the NHL with 8.35 high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes. The veteran Swede sees an upside boost skating on the top man-advantage unit, as the Penguins are first in the NHL in power-play efficiency.

Mike Hoffman, OTT at DAL ($6,400): Hoffman has two goals and two assists in his last three games and has 43 points — 18 goals — on the season. The Ontario native might be behind last year's production in points, but he's done so with a high volume of shots (3.19 per game) and effective special-teams play (seven power-play goals).

Defensemen

Morgan Rielly, TOR at BUF ($4,700): Rielly is a full-on offensive defenseman. Over his last three games, the youngster has two assists and 12 shots on goal. He sees ice time in every situation and is facing the Sabres who have a team GAA of 3.23, 27th in the league. The 23-year-old is having his best season in the NHL and should build on his 37 total points.

Oliver Ekman-Larsson, ARI at EDM ($5,400): OEL has a point in back to back games and in five out of his last seven contests. The Oilers have allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to defensemen over the last month, putting OEL in a great position to continue to thrive against the Oilers. The Swede has 25 points — 10 goals — in 31 career games against Edmonton, with 13 of those points coming over the last 13 matchups.
