Ends up on the wrong side of a highlight reel
MiddleweightBellator
December 1, 2018
Sakara lost Kent Kauppinen via TKO (punches) at 1:10 of Round 1 at Bellator 211 on Saturday in Genoa, Italy.
ANALYSIS
Bellator loves to use Sakara when they host cards in Italy. He is an native and a UFC veteran, who the fans seem to love. However, he seems to be past his prime at this point. In this fight, Sakara came forward with a combination. Instead, Kauppinen used the opportunity to counter. His punches landed hard. They dropped Sakara, and the fight is over. This was Sakara's first loss in a non-title fight since he joined Bellator in 2016. He will likely remain a fixture of Bellator cards in Italy, but that is about all he can offer at this point.

Has his momentum stopped in the main event of Bellator 190
MiddleweightBellator
December 9, 2017
Sakara lost to Rafael Carvalho via KO (elbow) at 0:44 of Round 1 at Bellator 190 on Saturday in Florence, Italy.
ANALYSIS
Sakara has been experiencing a late-career resurgence in Bellator. This is the third Italian Bellator event the Italian has headlined since signing with the promotion last year. In his first two trips to the Bellator cage, he scored wins over Brian Rogers and Joey Beltran in light heavyweight fights. For this fight, he dropped to middleweight to challenge for the belt. Unfortunately for him, he could not withstand the power of Carvalho. He falls to 18-12 as a professional for the 15-year veteran.
Scores TKO victory over Joey Beltran in Italy

December 10, 2016
Sakara defeated Joey Beltran via TKO (punches) at 1:20 of Round 1 at Bellator 168 on Saturday in Florence, Italy.
ANALYSIS
Sakara seemed to be the more comfortable man in this fight, pressuring his opponent before landing a big shot on the side of the head to initiate the finish. Sakara was bounced from the UFC after losing four consecutive fights, but seems to be on track to build momentum once again, as he has won his last three fights (two in Bellator) by KO/TKO. At 35 years old, though, the door may be closing on another run of success for the veteran.
