Suffers knee injury prior to Glory 46 loss
HeavyweightOther
November 7, 2017
Silva claims that he suffered a torn ligament in his knee just days before his Glory 46 fight with Rico Verhoeven, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva made his Glory debut in October, where he lost to Rico Verhoeven. "Bigfoot" says that suffered the injury days before the fight took place and has since gotten surgery to correct the issue. The former UFC fighter hit a major slide prior to joining the promotion, having gone 1-8-1 since 2013.

Almost certainly looking at release after loss to Roy Nelson
HeavyweightOther
September 24, 2016
Bigfoot lost to Roy Nelson via KO (punches) at 4:10 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Brasilia, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
At least Bigfoot managed to see the second-round this time. Silva did a decent job of covering up throwing an occasional kick here and there in Round 1, but as soon as Nelson unleashed a combination that connected, Bigfoot crumbled, as expected. Silva is now 1-6 (1NC) in his last eight fights dating back to May 2013. Five of the six losses have been first-round KO setbacks and of course Saturday's was a second-round KO defeat. To say that Bigfoot has nothing left in the tank would be the understatement of the century. If he doesn't step aside willingly, the UFC is going to release him. It should have happened a long time ago, but it's going to happen now.
Needs win in worst way against Roy Nelson Saturday
HeavyweightOther
September 22, 2016
Bigfoot (+360) is a hefty underdog for his heavyweight fight against Roy Nelson which will take place at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Brasilia, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
A former challenger for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, Silva's career is on life support. He has one win in the last three and a half years and his last four losses have all been via first-round KO. He should have been released months ago. There is no legitimate reason that he is still on the UFC roster. A loss to Nelson would figure to be the final nail in Bigfoot's coffin.
To face Roy Nelson at UFC Fight Night on September 24
HeavyweightOther
August 4, 2016
Silva will face Roy "Big Country" Nelson at UFC Fight Night in Brazil on September 24, Damon Martin of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva could have been released after losing his last fight to Stefan Struve by TKO 15 seconds into round one in May. Luckily for him, he'll get a chance at another fighter who has also lost three of his last four bouts. As heavyweight fights tend to be, this one will be a slugfest, as both fighters have over 10 knockouts under their belts. Silva is much more knockout vulnerable than Nelson, having lost eight fights by knockout over his career, so he'll need to be more cautious than he has been in the past of hard hits in order to win the fight.
