Oluwale Bamgbose

Holy War Angel
Dropped from UFC
MiddleweightUFC
December 27, 2017
Bamgbose is no longer a member of the UFC, he announced on his personal Twitter account Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Bamgbose lost his past three fights, including a defeat at the hands of Alessio di Chirico via KO (knee) at UFC Winnipeg a couple weeks ago. This announcement doesn't come as much of a shock since the "Holy War Angel" hasn't been able to compete with most of the competition he's seen in the promotion. He only managed one victory during five bouts in the UFC, and will likely look to continue his professional career with another promotion.

Brutally KO'd by Alessio di Chirico
MiddleweightUFC
December 16, 2017
Bamgbose lost to Alessio di Chirico via KO (knee) at 2:14 of Round 2 at UFC Winnipeg on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Bamgbose has now dropped three in a row with the UFC, and could be looking at a release from the middleweight roster. What's most concerning about his performance here -- although it could be said for both men -- was inactivity. Bamgbose barely attempted any strikes in a slow first round, and after some encouragement from his corner, finally engaged in the second. In the exchange, di Chirico landed a knee flush that knocked him out cold. Due to the inactivity, Bamgbose was barely able to rack up any fantasy points prior to getting stopped.
To face Alessio di Chirico at UFC Winnipeg
MiddleweightUFC
August 20, 2017
Bamgbose will face Alessio di Chirico in a middleweight matchup at UFC on Fox 26 on December 16 in Winnipeg, Canada.
ANALYSIS
Bamgbose has suffered three losses in his four fights with the UFC. With a 6-3 career where all victories came from first round KO/TKO victories, the higher caliber competition that "The Holy War Angel" is facing seems to be the biggest roadblock to success. Gaining a win over di Chirico could help propel him to the next level.
Smashed Saturday at UFC 212

June 3, 2017
Bamgbose lost to Paulo Borrachinha via TKO (punches) at 1:06 of Round 2 at UFC 212 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro.
ANALYSIS
Bamgbose delayed the inevitable for just over a round. As always, he came out with a ton of energy, but as always, he gassed out quickly. It is abundantly clear that Bamgbose lacks high-level ability. He attempts to ambush the opposition right off the bat and he is going to be in massive trouble, as he was Saturday, if he doesn't score a quick stoppage. It's safe to say this will almost certainly be the last time we see Bamgbose on the main card of a pay-per-view.

Bamgbose defeated Daniel Sarafian via TKO (strikes) at 1:00 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night o Sunday in Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
The high kick that led to the finish didn't even get through cleanly, but Bamgbose has such power that it still stunned Sarafian and setup the strikes that led to the stoppage. Bamgbose was quickly finish by Uriah Hall in his UFC debut in August, but he rebounded in a big way on Sunday. There is almost certainly limited upside here, but Bamgbose is a likable personality and he has the potential to be a marketable asset for the UFC.
Oluwale Bamgbose: Quickly Drops UFC Debut To Urijah Hall Saturday
MiddleweightUFC
August 8, 2015
Bamgbose lost to Urijah Hall via TKO at 2:32 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Nashville.
ANALYSIS
Not the UFC debut that Bamgbose was hoping for. It would have been interesting to see what he could do in a boxing match against Hall, but he quickly ended up on his back and referee Herb Dean was pulling Hall off of Bamgbose shortly after that. He's an interesting character with an interesting back story, but the odds are against Bamgbose ever becoming a threat in the UFC.
