May 12, 2018
Piccolotti defeated Carrington Banks via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:41 of Round 3 at Bellator 199 on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Piccolotti really need a win here. He entered 2017 with an undefeated record and finished the year with a pair of losses. In his first fight this year, he got it done in the grappling department against an undefeated former wrestler. Banks was able to take an early lead in the fight with his takedowns. However, Piccolotti took over the fight on the ground and threatened with multiple submissions and dominant positions. With less than a minute left in the fight, Piccolotti locked in a rear-naked choke from the back and finished the fight. The victory improved his professional record to 10-2, and he is now 6-2 in Bellator.

December 1, 2017
Piccolotti lost to David Rickels via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at Bellator 189 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Piccolotti was trying to get back on track in this fight. In his previous outing, he had lost for the first time as a professional against Goiti Yamauchi. However, that proved to be a tough task against Rickels. Piccolotti came out looking to throw hands, but he struggled to deal with his opponent's pressure. Rickels spent nearly the entire fight walking forward. This forced Piccolotti to fight moving backwards, and he was clearly uncomfortable. He has now lost two fights in a row, but he is still only 29 years old and could go on a run in the Bellator lightweight division.

Piccolotti will face Dave Rickels in a catchweight fight at Bellator 189 on Dec. 1 in Thackerville, Oklahoma, Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Piccolotti was originally scheduled to face Derek Anderson before an undisclosed injury forced Anderson to withdraw. He'll now go against a fighter in Rickels who is in the midst of a three-fight winning streak and has won five of his last six bouts, with his one loss coming to former Bellator champion Michael Chandler. Piccolotti is looking to bounce back from his first career loss -- a first-round submission to Goiti Yamauchi.

September 24, 2017
Piccolotti lost to Goiti Yamauchi via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:19 of Round 1 at Bellator 183 on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
ANALYSIS
In perhaps the biggest test of his career, Piccolotti came up short against Yamauchi. Going into the fight, the question was, could Piccolotti deal with his opponent's offensive grappling game. Unfortunately for him, he was not able to stop the ground assault and submitted in the first round. Despite suffering his first professional loss, Piccolotti could still have a future in the Bellator lightweight division. However, he will need to have a better showing in his next fight against high level competition.
Takes the next step against Brandon Girtz
LightweightPFL
November 19, 2016
Piccolotti defeated Brandon Girtz via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at Bellator 165 on Saturday in San Jose, Calif.
ANALYSIS
For the most part Piccolotti was able to stay on the outside and land at will. Girtz used a low stance as if he was expected takedown attempts. However, the low stance opened him up for several jumping knees and kicks to the body. Towards the end of the first round, Piccolotti got loose and landed a series of nice kicks to go ahead in the fight. This trend continued for the rest of the fight. Girtz simply could not close the distance and land with any consistency. This was a big win for Piccolotti who continues to develop as a prospect.
