May 19, 2018
Rivas lost to Guido Cannetti via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Santiago, Chile.
ANALYSIS
The crowd was very excited for the only Chilean fighter on the card. Unfortunately for them, Rivas was not able to do enough to win the fight. He pushed forward on the feet, but his combinations were not crisp enough to really land. On the ground, Cannetti seemed to be able to reverse positions and held the back for most of the first round. Rivas has now dropped back-to-back fights with his last win coming against Noad Lahat in 2016.

Loses via Unanimous Decision in Mexico City
FeatherweightUFC
August 5, 2017
Rivas was defeated by Jose Quinonez via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night 114 on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Rivas was easily outpointed in this fight and didn't really have any outstanding moments over the duration of the contest. He threw big shots, but none of them landed as Quinonez had a reach advantage and did a good job of keeping a distance. Rivas told his corner he was tired in between rounds, and it showed as Quinonez was able to get takedowns in both the second and third rounds. "Pitbull" showed good heart, but he had no answers for the movement of Quinonez and easily lost the fight. Rivas was coming back from a long layoff, due to fighting cancer, so "ring rust" and his battle with cancer certainly could have been a factor in his performance.

Rivas defeated Noad Lahat via KO (flying knee) at 0:23 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Rivas was dominated so badly in Round 1 that this victory appears to be a fluke, but he deserves credit for landing the flying knee that put an end to the bout. Rivas couldn't get off his back early on in his first fight in well over a year, but he caught Lahat early in Round 2 and the fight was over shortly there after. Rivas is now 2-0 in the UFC.
