Trice defeated Sean Power via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at Bellator 205 on Friday in Boise, Idaho.
ANALYSIS
Trice wrestled for Central Michigan and continued on the international circuit before ever transitioning into MMA. He has relied on his wrestling up until this point in MMA career. However, in this fight, he could not score takedowns. He had a momentary takedown in the first round, but Powers bounced right back up. The lack of wrestling resulted in a novice striking battle. Trice had a jab and an occasional overhand right. Powers had a much more diverse striking attack, but he was not very active. Both fighters landed their fair share, but the judges awarded the decision to Trice.

Continues progression with a win at Bellator 194

Trice defeated Walter Howard via majority decision (28-28, 29-27, 29-27) at Bellator 194 on Friday in Uncasville, Conn.
ANALYSIS
Trice had a lot of trouble with range in this fight, but he was able to pull out the decision anyway. Howard had a pretty large size advantage. Trice, a former collegiate wrestler, is still picking up the striking game. He landed some nice overhand rights and some body kicks. However, he really had to work to get into striking range against the taller fighter. Trice is one of the many former wrestlers signed to Bellator. With this win, he improves to 3-0, but he clearly needs to continue to work on his game before he takes a step up in competition.

Trice defeated Kevin Woltkamp via TKO (Punches) at 3:17 of Round 2 at Bellator 171 in Mulvane, Kan. on Saturday
ANALYSIS
Trice was a multiple-time All-American wrestler for Central Michigan University. He made his professional debut in the Bellator cage last December and scored a decision victory. That trend continued here. He was clearly against an over-matched opponent. Trice was able to continually throw combinations and try a lot things, but he was nearly close to finishing the fight in the first round. In the second round, Trice was able to wear Woltkamp down. Trice landed a left hook that staggered his opponent and then he poured it on for the finish. Bellator will certainly continue to give him chances to improve.
