Soto did not have a chance to get going in this fight. He tried to measure the distance in the striking, but Alcantara stepped in with striking and forced him back. December 1, 2017
Soto lost to Brett Johns via submission (calf slicer) at 0:30 of Round 1 at the TUF 26 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Soto is a veteran grappler who relies on his ground skill to win fights in the UFC. This loss has to be a hard pill for him to swallow. On paper, he had the advantage on the ground, but he ended up submitting to a calf slicer. This loss breaks up a three-fight winning streak that dated back to last year.

Takes bloody decision from Rani Yahya in Fortaleza
BantamweightOther
March 11, 2017
Soto defeated Rani Yahya via unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Fortaleza, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Soto clearly deserved to win the bloody, brutal war. An accidental clash of heads opened up a massive cut over Soto's head early in Round 2, but the doctor cleared him to continue and he dominated the remainder of the fight. Soto was having a bit of trouble early on, although he was able to turn the tide of the fight when Yahya appeared to gas out in the middle frame. Soto is a solid all-around fighter who doesn't excel in any one area. He's a bit limited athletically, but he has shown an ability to get the most out of his skills. After losing the first three bouts of his UFC career, Soto is currently riding a three-fight winning streak to even his record with the company at .500.
