No-shows Saturday's loss to Mirsad Bektic
Pepey lost to Mirsad Bektic via TKO (punches) at 2:47 of Round 1 at UFC on FOX 27 on Saturday in Charlotte.
ANALYSIS
Facing one of the most dangerous men in the division, Pepey never had a chance. He found himself retreating moments after the opening bell rang and it was abundantly clear that he didn't have a prayer of matching the skill or athleticism of Bektic. The 30-year-old Brazilian is now 1-3 in his last four fights dating back to July 2016, and he is closer to being released than he is to cracking the top-ten in the UFC's featherweight division.

Will face Mirsad Bektic in North Carolina
Pepey will face Mirsad Bektic in a featherweight bout at UFC on FOX 27 in North Carolina on Jan. 27, Marc Raimondi of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Pepey, who owns an overall record of 13-5 in professional fights, will look to bounce back from his unanimous decision loss to Shane Burgos at UFC on FOX 25 back in July. He'll face a difficult opponent in Bektic, who was undefeated at 10-0 prior to suffering a stunning knockout defeat to Darren Elkins at UFC 209 in March.

Battered in Saturday's loss to Shane Burgos
Pepey lost to Shane Burgos via unanimous decision (26-30, 26-30, 28-29) at UFC on FOX 25 on Saturday in Long Island, New York.
ANALYSIS
Pepey deserves credit for eating countless shots that would have knocked out any mere mortal. Clearly outclassed by his opponent on the feet, Pepey kept biting down on his mouthpiece and pushing forward. The end result was a lopsided loss, but it was a minor miracle that he managed to last the entire 15 minutes. The Brazilian just didn't have the power or hand speed to threaten his opponent and Burgos knew it. Pepey is 4-2 in his last six fights despite Saturday's loss, but there is little reason for continued optimism moving forward.

Chokes out Mike De La Torre Saturday
Pepey defeated Mike De La Torre via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:03 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Brasilia, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
With the entire crowd behind him, it was no surprise that Pepey came out on fire. He connected with several big punches before initiating the sequence that led to the tap from his opponent. The improvement in Pepey's accuracy on the feet is the primary reason that he has been able to win four of his last five fights dating back to March 2014. He still does his best work on the mat, but his striking has improved to the point that he can keep his opponents off balance and allow him to implement other aspects of his game.

Struggles on ground in loss to Darren Elkins
Pepey lost to Darren Elkins via unanimous decision (26-30, 27-29, 27-29) at UFC on FOX 20 on Saturday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
The odd scores are the result of referee Herb Dean taking a point from Pepey after a vicious illegal knee to a grounded opponent in Round 2. Pepey did a nice job of hammering Elkins repeatedly in Round 1, but between the point deduction and his performance, it was all downhill from there. Despite calls from his corner to do otherwise, Pepey pulled guard after a grappling exchange early in Round 3 and he never got off of his back again. Saturday was Pepey's eighth UFC fight, but the first of his career that was held outside of his native Brazil. The loss ended a three-fight winning streak for him.
