Puts on a show
FeatherweightBellator
December 15, 2018
Sicilia defeated Derek Campos via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) at Bellator 212 on Friday in Honolulu.
ANALYSIS
This is exactly what promoters are looking for in a main card opener. Sicilia and Campos came out and went to battle at the opening bell. Early in the fight, it looked like at least one of the fighters was going to become exhausted. However, it never really happened. In the end, Sicilia got the better of the exchanges and took the decision on two of the three scorecards. Sicilia joined the UFC after dropping three in a row and losing his job in the UFC. However, in the new promotion, he has now gone 2-1 including this victory and a win over former Bellator bantamweight champion Marcos Galvao.

Gets caught in an arm-triangle choke at Bellator 198
FeatherweightBellator
April 28, 2018
Sicilia lost to Emmanuel Sanchez via submission (arm-triangle) at 3:52 of Round 1 at Bellator 198 on Saturday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
Sicilia left the UFC on a three-fight skid. In his Bellator debut, he scored an upset win over former champion Marcos Galvao. However, he had his momentum stopped here against Sanchez. He tried to take the fight to the ground early. Sanchez used that opportunity to go for submissions. He went for a variety of leg locks before the fight returned to the feet. Sanchez locked on a standing arm-triangle choke and held on to it for the finish.

FeatherweightBellator
February 26, 2018
Sicilia will fight Emmanuel Sanchez on April 28 at Bellator 198, Marc Raimondo of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sicilia, who lost his UFC contract last year after dropping three in a row, made his Bellator debut last December and came out victorious over Marcos Galvao by unanimous decision. The Sikjitsu fighter will be in for a challenge against a surging Sanchez who has won three straight and six of his last seven.
Struggles to catch up to Gavin Tucker
FeatherweightBellator
February 19, 2017
Sicilia lost to Gavin Tucker via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night in Halifax.
ANALYSIS
Sicilia was more than willing to chase his opponent around the cage. However, he simply did not have the speed or technique to keep up. He continually threw shots, but he hit mostly air. Tucker moved on the outside and cut angles. Sicilia ate a lot of strikes and was never close to winning a round. Sicilia has now lost three fights in a row. His last win came against Yaotzin Meza back in 2015.
Choked out by Gabriel Benitez after struggles on the feet
FeatherweightBellator
September 17, 2016
Sicilia lost to Gabriel Benitez via submission (guillotine) at 1:20 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
It just wasn't Sicilia's night. Known as one of the harder hitters in the UFC's featherweight division, Sicilia had major problems putting together significant combinations against the constant movement of Benitez. Sicilia can look like a top-ten fighter if you catch him on the right night, but unfortunately there just haven't been enough of those evenings over the course of his UFC career. The loser of two-straight fights, his career record in the UFC has now dropped below .500 (5-6)

Sicilia lost to Doo Ho Choi via KO (Punches) at 1:33 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 79 on Saturday in Seoul, South Korea.
ANALYSIS
Sicilia lived and died by the gun at UFC Fight Night 79. Connecting early with a hard shot against Choi, Sicilia looked to engage in a brawl before a right hook to the chin turned his lights off. While it's true that Sicilia lost to a top UFC prospect, the 29-year-old has now been finished four times in his UFC career. Sicilia's exciting style likely means his job is safe, but his stock dropped considerably with Saturday's KO defeat.
