Sobotta has been medically suspended for 180 days or until he gains clearance on his right forearm by X-ray, Alexander K. Lee of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Sobotta's showing wasn't particularly impressive Saturday, and it appears he's picked up an injury to boot. It remains to be seen how long the injury will sideline him, but Sobotta would be looking at a date in late January if it hits the full length.

Sobotta lost to Alex Oliveira via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
Sobotta was out of sorts the second the opening bell rang and was never able to find his rhythm. He appeared confused and hesitant in terms of stringing together potential combinations, and his striking defense was mediocre at best. Oliveira can be tricky to fight at times, but he's never been known as a particularly strong defensive fighter. The fact Sobotta couldn't get anything going offensively in this one is a concern moving forward. Sobtta looked like a guy who hadn't fought in well over two years entering this bout. His career record with the UFC is 4-3, but Sobotta has fought just those seven times despite being with the company for more than six years now. He'll never rise up the rankings unless he is able to get into the Octagon a bit more often.

Sobotta (undisclosed) is on the card for a July 25 bout versus Alex Oliveira at Fight Island, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Sobotta pulled out of his scheduled bout last September versus Alessio Di Chirico due to an injury but appears to be over the issue and ready to return to the Octagon. He's looking for his first victory on the circuit since May of 2017 after losing his last time around to Leon Edwards, and faces an opponent in Oliveira who had a three-fight losing streak on his record prior to a victory over Max Griffin at UFC 248. Sobotta sports a one-inch height advantage over Oliveira but cedes and inch of reach.

Sobotta (17-6-1) announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he will face Alessio Di Chirico (12-3-0) in a middleweight bout at UFC Copenhagen on Sept. 28.
ANALYSIS
He'll be moving up from the welterweight ranks to face Di Chirico, who owns a 2-1 record since making his UFC debut in 2017. The 32-year-old Sobotta made his previous nine UFC appearances as a 170-pound fighter and lost his first three bouts before going 4-2 in his subsequent six fights.
Announces move to middleweight

Sobotta intends to move up from welterweight (170) to the middleweight (185) division, he announced Thursday via a personal Facebook post.
ANALYSIS
Sobotta has been with the UFC on and off since 2009, and the German-born fighter has competed in every event the promotion has held in his native country. July's event in Hamburg will break that streak, as the post disclosed that he will instead focus his attention on family while awaiting the birth of his first child. Furthermore, when Sobotta is ready to return, he will move up to the 185-pound division after fighting most of his career at 170 pounds. He's currently 31 years old and admits to walking around at 205 pounds, resulting in an increasingly difficult weight cut of late. The move up will mitigate any size advantages he may have held in the welterweight division, but should keep him looking fresher on fight nights moving forward.
