October 1, 2016
McCrory lost to Nate Marquardt via KO (head kick) at 4:44 of round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Portland, Ore.
ANALYSIS
As a dangerous submission threat, it appeared as if McCrory would have a shot to submit Nate Marquardt. He spent a majority of the first two rounds on his back working rubber guard. However, towards the end of round two, the fighters ended up on their feet. McCrory was aggressive and tried to land, but he was bested by Marquardt with a devastating head kick.

McCrory will take on Nate Marquardt at UFC Fight Night 96 on Oct. 1 in Portland.
ANALYSIS
McCrory is 1-1 since returning to the UFC after a brief stretch with Bellator, most recently suffering a first-round KO loss to Krzysztof Jotko. He'll get a chance to bounce back against a nearly washed-up veteran in Marquardt, and as a result, should enter as a favorite.

McCrory lost to Krzysztof Jotko via KO (punches) at 0:59 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Ottawa.
ANALYSIS
It was McCrory's first loss in nearly seven years, of course he was inactive for over five of them. Prior to Saturday, McCrory's last loss was a split decision setback to John Howard at UFC 101 on August 8, 2009. There is little to say about this fight from an analysis standpoint. McCrory was starched with a straight left-hand from Jotko that immediately put his lights out. Referee Yves Lavigne couldn't get in there quick enough to put a halt to the action. It was certainly a disappointing effort from McCrory, but he will be back in the near future.

McCrory defeated Josh Samman via submission (triangle choke) at 4:10 of Round 3 at UFC on FOX 17 on Saturday in Orlando.
ANALYSIS
McCrory's return to the UFC was a ground clinic. He controlled the pace in what was a constant ground battle. He outworked Samman on the mat and the finish came when he slapped on a beautiful triangle late in Round 3. McCrory returned to the UFC first the first time since August 2009. He took some time away from MMA and was re-signed by the company after picking up back to back wins in Bellator. Most predicted Samman to win this one fairly easily, so it was a terrific effort from the returnee.

McCrory will make his return to the UFC against Josh Samman at UFC on FOX 17 on December 19 in Orlando, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McCrory previously fought in the UFC from June 2007 until August 2009. He then took nearly five years off and returned to pick up back-to-back stoppage victories while fighting in Bellator. He used an out clause in his contract and re-signed with the UFC last week.
