Can't defend takedown in debut loss
FeatherweightUFC
July 18, 2026
Anderson lost to Ezra Elliott via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
This fight came together just a few days ago, with both men making their UFC debuts. A natural bantamweight, Anderson moved up to featherweight to make it happen. To make matters worse, Elliott missed weight by 1.5 pounds Friday morning. The end result was Anderson allowing a dozen takedowns on 18 attempts. He spent 11:01 worth of the bout being controlled which eliminated any chance he might have had of landing meaningful offense. The Texan is widely viewed as a quality prospect despite the setback, and he will certainly get another shot with the company.
