Benouaich defeated Sofia Montenegro via technical submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:22 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
It was a brilliant performance for Benouaich in her UFC debut despite the fact she entered with just a 2-2 mark in her past four fights on the French regional scene. Fighting in her home country, Benouaich floored the gas pedal from the very start, landing 74 significant strikes in Round 1 alone. She dropped Montenegro with a straight right midway through Round 2 before following her opponent to the mat and eventually choking her out. We'll see if Benouaich can continue this run against what will presumably be a bit better opponent her next time out.
