Shahbazyan lost to Levan Chokheli via TKO (punches) at 0:23 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.

In a battle of two guys making their official UFC debuts, Shahbazyan was barely able to last 20 seconds. He ate two huge low kicks from Chokheli early on before getting obliterated with a liver shot. Shahbazyan would have absorbed a bunch more damage had referee Kerry Hatley not stepped in. Shahbazyan will be 31 years old in November. He's had an inconsistent run with multiple regional promotions, in addition to getting knocked out by Phil Rowe on Dana White's Contender Series back in August 2019. It's exceedingly rare for a fighter to be one-and-done with the UFC, but Shahbazyan can't feel comfortable after this performance.

Joins brother in UFC
Shahbazyan has been added to the UFC and will make his debut at UFC Vegas 119 on June 20 against fellow newcomer Levan Chokheki, Giorgi Kokiashvili of Setanta Sports reports.

Leon's younger brother Edmen is already a UFC veteran at this point, but now "S.O.G." will get his chance at the highest level after a 12-4 professional record and four-fight winning streak. Each of those four victories have been earned via submission, as has been the case in 11 of his 12 career wins. He'll hold slight height and reach advantages over Chokheli, a former Bellator fighter with a 14-3 professional record overall.
