Sprint Cup
October 28, 2013
ESPN's Allen Bestwick reported during coverage of Sunday's race from Martinsville Speedway, that Schrader's last NASCAR Sprint Cup race would be the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
ANALYSIS
It's hard to believe but the 58-year-old is finally going to hang up his fire suit at the end of this season. Schrader to this point has 762 Cup starts over his 29-season career. That doesn't include the hundreds of other starts the veteran has in lower divisions of NASCAR. Schrader's 23 pole positions, four victories and 184 Top-10 finishes don't necessarily make him Hall of Fame material. However, his legendary three-decade career, that spans most of the modern era of NASCAR, does make him a HOF shoe-in.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2014
2008
2006
Schrader entered retirement at the completion of the 2013 season.
The 28-year veteran made 13 starts last season with the small FAS Lane Racing team. Schrader was able to actually race and compete with this team although the equipment wasn’t the best. He will return for a 10-event schedule with this same team in 2013. The one thing this team possesses that makes them valuable is their Top 35 status. That means provisional starts and the possibility to continue racing full bore in the upcoming season. Whenever Schrader takes the wheel the team has the chance to challenge the Top 25.
Schrader moves to the driver's seat of the #21 Ford that Ricky Rudd piloted to nine top 10's in 2005. Wood Brothers Racing is sure to stay the course with the veteran driver Schrader.
