After competing in 575 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races over 27 seasons, Bodine is calling it a career, theracingexperts.com reports.

1986 Daytona 500 winner, Bodine, said Wednesday he still hopes to have a deal in place to compete in NASCAR's premier race on Feb. 26, as well as the invitation-only Budweiser Shootout that will be held eight days earlier, the Elmiria Star Gazette reports.

Bodine, an 18-time winner in NASCAR’s Cup series, will return to the track as part of a five-race deal with Tommy Baldwin Racing with sponsorship from Luke Associates, scenedaily.com reports.

Bodine, who raced in one NASCAR event last season, is wanting to return to any of the three NASCAR national touring series, theracingexperts.com reports.

Bodine revealed he would attempt to make the field for next week's Sprint Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway in the No. 36 Chevrolet fielded by Tommy Baldwin Racing, the Sporting News reports.
