Former Nextel Cup driver and 2004 Truck Series Champion Hamilton passed away Sunday at age 49, Nashville Tennessean reports.

Sad news from the world of NASCAR. Hamilton had missed most of 2006 after being diagnosed with cancer. His recovery from chemo had been going slow and apparently complications may have been a cause of Hamilton's death. Hamilton was very admired among those in the sport and will be missed very much.
