Claims GTD Victory at Sebring
IMSA
March 17, 2019
Grasser Racing Team has claimed GT Daytona class honors in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, leading a historic 1-2 finish for Lamborghini and '36 Hours of Florida' sweep for the team and manufacturer. Bortolotti led home Andy Lally following a duel between the pair of Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evos in the closing stages of the highly competitive race, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Bortolotti took over the class lead in the 10th hour from the No. 57 Acura of Meyer Shank Racing. The Italian would hold the point with an iron grip from that point on, fending off several challengers. Bortolotti would have a spirited battle with Andy Lally in the closing laps to secure the win. Grasser Racing sweeps both Florida endurance races With last season's win in the Rolex 24, Bortolotti and his co-pilots have won three major endurance race victories in the last 14 months.
