Bruno Junqueira

Junqueira, who is leading the Champ Car World Series points standings, will be out several weeks after surgery to repair two fractured vertebrae, the Indianapolis Star reports. He crashed on lap 76 of the Indy 500.

Junqueira won the pole for the Long Beach Grand Prix.

Junqueira won the CART Grand Prix of Denver after winning the pole.

Junqueira won the rain-shortened Mario Andretti Grand Prix to take over the CART series points lead. Rain limited the race to just 34 laps instead of the planned 60.

Junqueira finished second at the Molson Indy Vancouver after he was penalized for jumping ahead of Tracy at the green flag. He was instructed to move over and allow Tracy to become the leader later in the race. Tracy never relinquished the lead thereafter as he won the event.
