Herta won the Kansas Indy 300 in only his third race since signing with Andretti Green Racing to replace an injured Dario Franchitti.

Herta finished 14th at the SunTrust Indy Challenge. "It seemed like once everything settled down after a restart, we didn't have a car to make many passes - it didn't look like many guys did," Herta said. "So I had to try and make something happen on the last restart to move the Archipelago/Motorola car to the front. I ended up getting into the gray and I hit the wall. I lost a lot of time there."

Herta will be named to replace injured Dario Franchitti of Andretti Green Racing for the rest of the season, the Indianapolis Star reports.

Herta, a former CART driver, filled in for the injured Dario Franchitti and finished fifth in the Bombardier 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in his first IRL race, the Associated Press reports.

Herta will fill in for Dario Franchitti for next month's IRL events at Texas Motor Speedway and Pikes Peak International Raceway, ESPN reports.
