These weekly rankings are built specifically for Fantrax and Sleeper scoring, where crosses, chances created, tackles, defensive actions and set pieces matter alongside goals and assists. Use them to set lineups, compare waiver options and identify the best players at every position for Gameweek 2.

The player pool is based on RotoWire's latest predicted lineups, with projections adjusted for role, matchup, expected minutes and fantasy scoring floor.

Best Fantrax & Sleeper Picks for Gameweek 2

Bruno Fernandes
Despite last week's loss, Fernandes still managed 10 fantasy points, which is pretty good when your team doesn't score.
Dominik Szoboszlai
Throw in PKs and possibly a more forward role and Szoboszlai is entering Fernandes territory. He started Gameweek 1 in a more defensive role, but if Alexis Mac Allister starts, Szoboszlai's role moves more into the attack.
Cody Gakpo
As long as Gakpo stays at Liverpool, it seems like his role could be massive in this system. Will he stay?
Bukayo Saka
Saka and Arsenal opened their season with a dominant, home win. Now against an Aston Villa team in flux, Saka and company could again feast, even if it's on the road.
Rayan Cherki
It seems like Cherki should be starting as soon as GW2 after he provided two assists off the bench in the opener. Palace have some issues defensively and Cherki will be one to unlock them.

Final Thoughts

Gameweek 2 gives us more information than the opener, but one match still shouldn't override established roles and scoring profiles. The biggest ranking changes come from confirmed minutes, set-piece responsibilities and unexpected tactical roles rather than one good or bad fantasy score.

Bruno Fernandes remains the standout option with Ipswich at home, while Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Bukayo Saka and Dominik Szoboszlai headline the other premium choices.
