Fantrax & Sleeper Premier League Rankings: Gameweek 3

Two Gameweeks in, Fantrax and Sleeper managers have a much clearer picture of which early-season roles are real and which were temporary. Set-piece responsibilities, defensive floors and attacking positions are starting to settle, while a few players have already forced their way up the rankings.

These weekly rankings are built specifically for Fantrax and Sleeper scoring, where crosses, chances created, tackles, defensive actions and set pieces matter alongside goals and assists. For Gameweek 3, the biggest boosts come from Manchester City at home to Coventry, Liverpool away to Ipswich and players whose roles have strengthened through the opening two matches.

The player pool is based on RotoWire's latest predicted lineups, with projections adjusted for role, matchup, expected minutes and fantasy scoring floor.

Best Fantrax & Sleeper Picks for Gameweek 3

Erling Haaland and Manchester City
If you don't have a Man City player this week, it could be trouble. It's realistic they score more than three goals, meaning Haaland, Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden and Antoine Semenyo could come near 20 points each.
Harvey Barnes
Newcastle players are interesting and could be secretly helpful in GW3. Barnes and Yoane Wissa lead the way and a home game against Bournemouth should produce goals.
Maxim De Cuyper
It was a bust for De Cuyper last week, but he's back home and back in play for a clean sheet and more production. As long as he stays in this attacking role, he'll have more upside than most other defenders in the game.
Gonzalo Garcia
This could be the game for a Fulham and Alvaro Arbeloa breakthrough. Garcia is at the top of the attack and most likely to score. Home against Crystal Palace should lead to more success than their first two games.
Dominik Szoboszlai
It doesn't matter where Szoboszlai plays, he'll have corners and penalties. That's good enough in most spots and in this spot, they play Ipswich Town.

Final Thoughts

Gameweek 3 is the point where early-season usage starts carrying more weight. Two matches are still a small sample, but repeated set-piece roles, secure minutes and consistent tactical positions are much more meaningful than one isolated fantasy score.

Manchester City's home matchup with Coventry creates some of the week's biggest ceiling opportunities, while Liverpool's trip to Ipswich keeps Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexander Isak near the top of the board. Bruno Fernandes remains one of the safest floor plays even in a tougher matchup at Everton, and Rayan Cherki's growing role makes him one of the more interesting risers entering GW3.
