Fantrax & Sleeper Premier League Rankings: Gameweek 5

Gameweek 5 presents several clear matchups to attack in Fantrax and Sleeper, led by Manchester City's home fixture against Sunderland. Newcastle also have a favorable home spot against Hull City, while Nottingham Forest host Coventry and Everton face Ipswich.

Those matchups matter even more in Fantrax and Sleeper formats because strong team environments can raise both attacking ceilings and peripheral floors. Crosses, chances created, tackles, defensive actions and set-piece roles all remain important alongside goals and assists, so the best weekly options aren't always identical to standard FPL.

Best Fantrax & Sleeper Picks for Gameweek 5

Manchester City attackers
City have the best team environment of the week against Sunderland, making their attacking players obvious candidates to sit near the top of the rankings. With Phil Foden unavailable, minutes could also be more secure for players like Rayan Cherki.
Yoane Wissa & Harvey Barnes, Newcastle
A home matchup with Hull gives Newcastle one of the better scoring setups on the slate. It hasn't been easy to trust them after the last couple matches, but this is still a favorable spot. Lewis Hall also profiles as one of the better defensive plays because of his attacking involvement.
Morgan Gibbs-White & Nottingham Forest
Fresh off a win at Aston Villa, Forest get another favorable matchup at home to Coventry. Gibbs-White remains one of their most consistent fantasy options, while James McAtee has settled into a useful role under Oliver Glasner and gets an additional boost from set pieces.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall & Everton
Ipswich have struggled defensively, and even with Everton's attack capable of going quiet, this still rates as a good spot. Dewsbury-Hall takes a share of set pieces and is also more likely to play 90 minutes than most Everton attackers.
Arsenal
Arsenal have dominated the early season, and consistent minutes are helping several players climb the rankings. Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard remain the safest attacking options, while Riccardo Calafiori continues to offer strong upside from defence. Ezri Konsa has also benefited from Arsenal's clean-sheet potential.

Final Thoughts

Manchester City are the easiest team to build around in Gameweek 5 because of the home matchup with Sunderland, but Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Everton all have favorable environments that should create strong fantasy options beyond the obvious premium names.

This is also the point of the season where repeated roles matter more than one-week production. Set pieces, secure minutes, attacking position and defensive involvement should continue to drive these rankings more than isolated goals or assists.
