FPL GW6: Teams With the Best Upcoming Fixtures
Five gameweeks of data, confirmed penalty takers and a much sharper sense of who is genuinely nailed. The early season uncertainty is largely behind us now and the fixture map is pointing very clearly towards certain teams. Here are the sides worth targeting heading into Gameweek 6 and beyond.
Using RotoWire's Fixture Difficulty Ranker, here are the best teams to target for transfers, Wildcards and longer-term planning from Gameweek 6.
| Team | Upcoming Fixtures | Best Targets |
|---|---|---|
| Newcastle | Hull, Coventry, Aston Villa | Wissa, Barnes, Thiaw, Hall |
| Everton | Ipswich, Hull | Barry, Tarkowski, Branthwaite |
| Fulham | Man United, then three promoted sides | Garcia, Robinson, Leno |
| Arsenal | Brighton, Forest, Everton | Saka, Raya, Gabriel, Konsa |
| Chelsea | Bournemouth, Everton, Spurs | Palmer, Rogers, Joao Pedro |
Fulham
Three promoted teams back to back is an almost unheard of fixture run, and Fulham are perfectly placed to capitalise on it. Gonzalo Garcia is the standout forward option, getting regular minutes, expected to be on penalties and with that fixture list ahead of him. Josh King has also already scored twice this season at just £5.6m and is worth serious consideration as a budget alternative. In defence, Antonee Robinson is a possible option for those wanting an attacking full back, while Bernd Leno could be a viable goalkeeper pick for managers Wildcarding this week.
Newcastle
It has been an up and down season so far, but the upcoming fixture against Coventry makes their assets worth holding onto for now. Yoane Wissa has been frustrating in recent weeks but the fixture alone justifies keeping him. Harvey Barnes is a shrewd midfield enabler with Elanga injured, opening the door for consistent minutes in the weeks ahead. Lewis Hall has been the standout Newcastle asset of the season so far, offering genuine potential at both ends of the pitch from his full back role.

Arsenal
The case for tripling up on Arsenal remains as strong as ever with a run of winnable fixtures ahead. Ezri Konsa is a minor fitness doubt with a dead leg but is reportedly expected to be fine very soon and is absolutely worth keeping at his price. David Raya, Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori are the reliable picks at the back, all doing exactly what you would expect from them. Bukayo Saka is the attacking option of choice, rested during the international break, first for expected goal involvement among midfielders this season and with genuine captaincy potential in several upcoming home fixtures, particularly Gameweeks 6, 8 and 10.
Manchester United
Recent performances have been difficult to watch, but the fixtures ahead give United a genuine opportunity to turn things around, starting with bottom placed Spurs at home. Bruno Fernandes is the anchor, fresh from a strong international break with Portugal and as reliable an FPL asset as there is in the game. Mbeumo is the interesting differential pick alongside him, with United having an expected goals figure of around 10 while scoring only eight, making a correction very much overdue. The defence remains a hard avoid with no clean sheets registered all season.
Sunderland
Sunderland have been genuinely impressive in attack this season, ranked second in the Premier League for expected goals and coming off the back of a three goal performance at the Etihad. The next four fixtures look very playable for their attacking assets. With Brobbey injured during the break, Enzo La Fee is the standout attacking option, on penalties, affordable and getting regular minutes, making him a natural consideration for those looking at a Sangare replacement. The defence remains a no go with Ballard also sidelined.
Final Thoughts
Fulham have the strongest immediate run, while Newcastle and Sunderland offer appealing short-term fixtures at lower price points. Arsenal remain the safest team to invest in across multiple positions, while Man United's attack is still worth targeting.
The main goal from GW6 onward is to buy players whose fixtures stay favorable beyond one week rather than chasing a single matchup.
